Patient and his kayak are safely ashore. Patient is not injured. The kayaker had his PFD on which was key in his survival. Also, please scout the river to know what you are up against.
Not a normal rescue. PSF E380 was notified that a baby Raccoon had its leg stuck in the Y of branch up in a tree. Crews used a ladder and clippers to remove the branch and free the Raccoon.

An adult male with an ankle fracture on the Cal Magnusson trail in Enumclaw required a Zone 3 Rescue response. Rope Technicians from Enumclaw Fire, VRFA and PSF along with King County medic one and PSF BC spent 2.5 hours to successfully get patient out and to the hospital.
House fire above an aircraft hanger in a rural area of unincorporated Auburn extinguished by crews from Mountainview Fire, Valley Regional Fire Authority, Enumclaw, and Puget Sound Fire. An aggressive fire attack by all involved saved the hanger and aircraft.

Battalion Chief Dave Woelber took his Oath of Office and was promoted to the rank of District Chief. District Chief Woelber has been with the department for over 23 years and replaces recently retired District Chief Jim Merritt. Congratulations to District Chief Woelber!
Fireworks started a 100x200 brush fire at the Grandview dog park in SeaTac. 5 units from South King Fire and Rescue and PSF extinguished the fire keeping out of the forested area near by.

Arson Investigators currently investigating several suspected arson fires involving vehicles across Sea Tac, Burien, & Tukwila. The fires included the food truck seen in this video.

Puget Sound Fire and Eastside Fire & Rescue is on scene of 2 brush fires in the median of Hwy 18 at the Issaquah Hobart Road exit. One is approximately 150 feet in length and the other is 450 feet in length.
This afternoon the E380 crew and Maple Valley PD assisted in removing a 3 month old puppy from a vehicle. The pup stepped on the door lock button after their owner exited the vehicle. Happily the pup was rescued before any heat related stress occurred

This morning we celebrated the push in ceremony of our new ladder truck at station 74. The design, construction, and outfitting of this new apparatus has been in the works for over 18 months and it is now going into service protecting the community.
