Congratulations to our Master's Student, MSc Marcos Correia, for his Master's thesis in the Production of New Antimicrobial Nanomaterials with Synergistic Properties for Drug Delivery Against Infectious Diseases Marcos Correia tackled one of the most pressing global health threats: **Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)**. Innovative solutions are urgently needed for Candida albicans**, a leading cause of mucosal and systemic infection that is s showing rising resistance to treatments. This thesis explored silver-copper core mesoporous silica shell nanoparticles (AgCuMNs) as a novel antimicrobial platform. Loaded with **Amphotericin B (AMB)**, a key antifungal agent, the nanomaterials demonstrated enhanced solubility and effective delivery. *Innovative science to redefine antimicrobial therapies!*

Congratulations to our student, MSc Vânea Rocha, from the Master in Biomaterials and Nanomedicine, NOVA FCT, for her work in Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-Based Nanoparticles for Antifungal Applications in collaboration with the i3S laboratory in Porto. Vania Mendes' groundbreaking research explored the potential of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles as carriers for decoralin-C, a promising antifungal agent. This work opens new avenues for developing effective, nanoparticle-based antifungal therapies.
