.⁦ @JustinTrudeau ⁩ is wrong. Scientifically wrong. His carbon tax won’t deal with/reverse xtreme weather & climate change will not be slowed while major emitters -China foremost- keep building coal-fired power. Canada produces 1.6% of global emissions

40 years ago tonight, The Journal launched on CBC-TV.. hosted by Barbara Frum, Mary Lou Finlay and, occasionally, others. The mix of interviews and mini-docs was an instant success. The Journal #ran 10 yrs, unfortunately subsumed by The National after Barbara’s passing.

This footage will still be played in 100 years. It now joins images of the retreat from Saigon and the naked Vietnamese girl as one of the west’s most shameful moments in modern history.

Minister caught again with misleading messaging. And, with US now closing the border.. why is Cdn Govt leaving Roxham Road backdoor open to illegal crossers/asylum claimants, infected or not, most of whom likely to be rejected?

Sad to learn of the passing of former Global TV colleague Peter Trueman.  An old school journo who practiced the craft with honesty, fierce integrity + good humour.  RIP Peter

Two strong Conservative women contested the CPC Thornhill nomination. Thanks to @GilaMartow for gracious concession + congrats to @MelissaLantsman for her win.  A pandemic election would be wrong.. but Thornhill is now prepared.

Canada needs a national public broadcaster... not a semi-private, journalistically compromised, public broadcaster. With its licence renewal now before the CRTC, confected news just another reason to re-mandate, re-size, de-digitize and de-commercialize.
