Just started my Oscar day by listening to my friend @ProfJStewart’s fantastic new Academy Museum Podcast and I’m so happy I did. I loved hearing from Halle Berry about the joys and disappointments of her historic win 20 years ago.

Score — only drums—composed and performed by jazz great and Oscar Micheaux admirer Max Roach. Stunning. Notice when he goes silent. #SymbolofTheUnconquered #TCMParty

Katherine Dunham was a brilliant, pioneering dancer, choreographer, scholar (UChicago trained anthropologist) and activist. Blows my mind to see her in this film. #tcmparty
