I am pleased to have spearheaded discussions in Banjul, The Gambia, alongside Pierre Gomez and esteemed experts from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, as well as my dedicated team at the @OSC_OCS .
A delegation from the #OSC, led by Professor Hirut Woldemariam the Under-Secretary-General for Research, Evaluation, and Foresight (REEF) held fruitful discussions in Banjul, The Gambia, with the country's Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Hon. Pierre Gomez and other experts from the Ministry, on the establishment of a Transdisciplinary Research Centre (ITRC) for the West African Region. The Research Centre, to be stationed in Banjul, will among other things, provide cutting-edge, contextual, and vital research and knowledge, that will address the multifaceted and interconnected challenges faced by the region and other OSC Member States in the Global South.
