The whole thing is infuriating. First the state made it unclear who could vote, then they gave out voter registration cards, and then after the fact they are prosecuting citizens who voted in good faith reliance on the state. 🗳️⚖️
The secretary of state's office has not offered any explanation for why it failed to immediately identify these individuals as ineligible to vote and allowed them to become registered. Nor has it explained why it took years to flag them.
