The Priory School, Shrewsbury. A school at the heart of its community. Striving to ensure all students aim to be Selfless, Self assured and Successful.
128 students and 35 staff volunteering their time this afternoon. A-MA-ZING!!! So much litter collected and everyone with a smile on their face for the start of a well earned Easter break!
Monday saw 80% of our students using Active Travel to get to school, this climbed to 82% on Tuesday and then 83% today (Wednesday). Hopeful a push on Thursday may mean we can get close to 90% on Friday! Room for improvement but a massive leap from what we have had previously.
Thank you to Lucy who has donated the England shirt she wore during the
@Lionesses
Euro’s campaign. Lucy leaves the Priory, to sign for
@ManUtdWomen
We wish you all the best, and look forward to you coming back to inspire future generations 🦁🦁🦁
Thank you to all our staff who have contributed to making Enrichment Week such a successful one! A massive commitment that is way above and beyond all of their job descriptions!
Time to start planning for 2024!
Five Priory students have been selected for the prestigious Shrewsbury School Dedicated Athletes programme 2021/22.
@ShrewsburySch
The programme supports high achieving sports performers to help them play at the highest level in their chosen sport. Congratulations girls!
Amazing week for The Priory Summer School! Over 100 of our very excited and very wonderful new Year 7 students attending each day! Well done to everyone involved.
Amazing responses from our students in the build up to Active Travel Week (w/c 28th June). Great to hear young people advising their peers about the benefits and practicalities of Active Travel. Let's hope next week changes some travel habits for the better!
Really excited to announce our first community litter pick taking place at 1pm on Thursday 1st April! Look out for us out on the streets doing our bit to help keep Shrewsbury looking wonderful ready for the Easter holidays.
Very proud of our students and staff for their engagement in this activity.
Thank you to

We are all really excited about our first "Screens Off" event on Wednesday! Our first is "Screens Off, Get Active!"
Looking forward to seeing what Mr Deery and the PE team come up with to give us a break from our screens and enjoying some exercise.

After an evening of football, and dancing at the disco, the students are off to sleep. Tomorrow: A visit to the Brie region to explore the markets, and a visit to a cheese factory 🧀 Bonne nuit! 🇫🇷
The Priory School want all our students to feel safe to walk/cycle to and from school every day. We are working closely with
@ShropCouncil
to make this happen. First step is our "Active Travel Week" (w/c 28th June) for all our students who are able.
Fifty years ago, 86% of British kids and 50% of American kids walked or cycled to school. Those figures are now 25% and 13%, respectively.
So don’t say, “That would never work here because of hills/weather/culture.”
It already worked. It can work again.
As a school looking to promote Active Travel with our students in the coming years. We have written to all local candidates asking them to support this simple aim to ensure that there is safe infrastructure in place on the roads that connect our school with our students' homes.
Really impressed with the responses and support that have been offered by local council candidates' responses so far. Really passionate and exciting visions to help facilitate safe active travel choices for the children and families in our community. Exciting times ahead!

A few pictures of the amazing food on offer in our school today! Such a great range of options and always plenty of healthy choices. Our canteen staff work so hard and are rightly so proud of what they create for the students each day. Thank you so much!

Active Travel Week starts tomorrow where we ask all our students, who are able to, to walk, cycle or scoot to and from school every day this week. The hope is that they find a sustainable travel habit for the rest of their time in school and beyond.
Congratulations to all our 2022 Leavers on their GCSE Results! Lots of very happy and well rewarded students collecting their envelopes from school this morning!
Thank you to

Thank you so much to The Armoury for including 7K's fantastic remembrance wreath as part of their entrance display. It all looks fantastic and it's great to see our students contributing to the town's Acts of Remembrance.
Check out these pictures from our dining room today! What an amazing selection for the students again. Pictures taken of students eating once everyone had been served by 1:20pm, plenty of space thanks to our dining room extension over the summer.
A big well done to Eva Butele, Anna Lysenko, Eleanor Brayne and Gwen Murray. They just came 2nd out of 31 schools competing in the West Midlands National Reading Championships Quiz!
#NRCQuiz2024
Final Friday of term and great to see so many of our students enjoying their sport and getting involved. Y8 House Football and the Y7 and Y8 Netball League final evening.
Plans are coming together nicely for Thursday's 1pm to 2pm community litter pick. Lots of keen students and staff looking forward to some fresh air and some rewarding work!
Watch out litter, we're coming for you!
@ShropCouncil
, we're not against starting a bobsleigh after-school club down Roman Road but would much rather you grit the pavements and cycle paths when you're doing the roads so our children can safely walk or cycle to school. Thank you.
7F aren't going to be put off by a bit of rain! Roman Road, Meole Field, Stanley Lane Park, Stanley Lane, and back up Longden Rd to school! What a great bunch of students to spend an hour with!
