Good morning, Seahawks! Today we will operate on a three-hour early release schedule. We have build a schedule so that everyone will touch base with all of our regularly scheduled Blue Day classes, and will be able to eat a full lunch! Dismissal will be at 11:55am!

Assistant Principal Darius Robinson, Assistant Principal Mie Devers, and Senior Merlyn C. are representing South Lakes High School at the FCPS February Instructional Positions Job Fair held at Lake Braddock Secondary School. We want the best teachers with us in Reston!

While attending girl and boys basketball at Chantilly High School. I had the opportunity to connect with one of South Lakes’ very own marketing teachers, Alena Andrews, who is a Chantilly basketball legend, & Kristi Layman, an outstanding administrator at Chantilly and in FCPS!

Congratulations to our SLHS students who placed in the FBLA Regional Competitive events! 28 students placed in 17 different categories, with 21 advancing onto states in early April 2025. South Lakes earned 5- 1st place awards, 4- 2nd place awards, & 8- 3rd place awards.

Congratulations to our South Lakes High School Theatre Program for winning and being named the 2025 Concorde District One-Act Play CHAMPIONS!!! The students compete in Regionals next Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 4:00pm at George C. Marshall High School. #LetsGoSeahawks

Congratulations to our Seahawk Battalion Drill Team, who competed in the District of Columbia Public Schools/General Wheeler Drill Competition over the weekend.  They achieved FIRST PLACE OVERALL for the competition.

Our Seahawk Robotics Team participated in a First Tech Challenge Qualifier at Moorefield High School in West Virginia. The team won the Connect Award, which is given to the team that most connects with their local science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) community.

I am so excited to support the South Lakes High School Choral Department for Broadway Night! This year’s theme, 100 Years of Broadway, is a spectacular celebration featuring over 200 students from all across the South Lakes Pyramid of Schools!

I had the great and good fortune to attend my first ever live production of “The Nutcracker” as performed by Festival Ballet Virginia, including five of our very own South Lakes Seahawks! IT WAS PHENOMENAL! LOVE supporting our students on & off our campus in their activities!
