Ocelot Pride is overperforming in Modern which is catching the attention of speculators and players alike. Supply is rapidly draining across multiple markets (both EU and NA) as 4 copies is quickly becoming the norm for Boros/Mardu Energy shells

One of the bigger winners might be Ob Nixilis, the Adversary since a lot of the Mardu decks are playing ~3 copies now. Card is good in general but it's especially nutso with Ocelot Pride since the copied copy keeps its loyalty.

Basically, I don't want people to get lulled into an MH3 euphoria and miss out on REALIZED gains. Numbers on a spreadsheet are worthless unless that number is your bank account balance. The cure for high prices is high prices and the remedy is coming soon.

Longer term people need to be mindful of the fact that the set will be reprinted over and over until it stops being free money. If you have sizable gains on key specs know that the clock is ticking on your ability to extract maximum value.

What it also means is that most of the cheaper "middling" cards are inevitably heading to 0. Cards like Volatile Stormdrake and Wight of the Reliquary are worth a few bucks now but they will 100% be bulk in the coming months.

Bloomburrow drops in just over a month and looks like it's going to be another banger set. Having dry powder ready to go is probably going to pay off wisely. I would not want to be sitting on marginal MH3 mythics and rares that are destined for the bulk bin for years.

Earlier was I relatively confident that Grief might be axed in Modern as well but based on feedback and MTGO data that might not be the case. If anything Energy and/or The One Ring might be substantially worse but at this point I kinda doubt either goes tomorrow.

Big takeaway for me here is that JPN is high on Merfolk which isn't a deck that I've seen much of in NA Modern leagues/challenges. Puts it on my radar as something that I might need to start paying attention to (spec wise).

Earlier I mentioned that I like Farmer Cotton as a Baylen, the Haymaker spec but I've also snagged some Halo Fountains recently too. Card is basically at its 52wk lows, it's amazing in the deck, it's Mythic, no reprints, ticks enough boxes for me
