I don’t think thousands of European lorry drivers will come rushing back to Britain. They spent Christmas last year trapped on a runway in Kent. That’s not something you forget so easily.

I’m Indian, so I can attest that Patel and Braverman are cut from the same cloth. They are the products of the worst cultural and social systems of racism and discrimination we have in Indian society. The only truth they know is the privilege these systems endow on them.

BBC quoting Grant Shapps and reporting quite joyfully that only 24 tests out 10,000 conducted on lorry drivers have returned positive... ...without realising that that is a Tier 4-worthy positive rate (240 per 100K) Looks like France was absolutely right to shut the border.

My god. The visa rules are even more sensationally stupid than they appear. When most migrants (not just partners of British citizens) next renew their visas, they must all earn a minimum of £38,700 else they'll get booted out. This'll be a human and an economic catastrophe.
