I think that Trump should issue a tax jubilee for Americans after seeing how wastefully their dollars have been spent.

I kind of think its crazy we spent the last 70 years being a make a wish for Immigrants and 3rd world countries and now the people who had no say in that are going to be forced to pay for it.

@Explicatur1 It will be interesting to see the viewership numbers this year. I heard very little hype in the runup for got it was this weekend for a while. To be fair, I expect many aspects were locked in before November and The Great Vibe Shift. Next year will be telling.

There's a type of "centrist" who disagrees with the left and sees the direction it's going but nonetheless relies on the left's indulgence of his particular vice (some kind of sexual depravity, being a woman*, etc.) This type can come up with cogent, well stated criticisms but will always oppose any rightward move because any actual rightward movement threatens to unravel the leftism which he depends on

@woke8yearold LMM can't teach him not to pick his nose or how to wash his hands but it can teach reading and arithmetic. One of the core contradictions in US 'education' is it's dual purpose of actual teaching, vs daycare and socialization for families w/ working moms
For kids I think AI is pretty far away from replacing teachers because a lot of what teachers do is about forming relationships with them and providing discipline. For an adult yes an LLM is a great teacher
