@JackFechino @yescaptain In the meantime...not too sure which audiobook provider you're using but some, like Spotify, have the option to choose 'loudness normalisation'. In the Spotify > Settings > Volume Level > Quiet which mixes much better with Portal.

@JackFechino @yescaptain It's definitely something that we're keen to add as an option in the future for sure - although, I'm afraid we don't have an exact timeframe for that just yet. Sorry about that.

@JackFechino @yescaptain What we’re planning to do at some point is add a similar dynamic range compression toggle option that can be toggled so the sounds better match the perceived loudness of music and other sources. That way it will "sound" louder, albeit less realistic.

@JackFechino @yescaptain Most other consumer sound uses something called dynamic range compression to decrease the difference between loud and quiet which makes things sound louder overall (see Wikipedia: 'Loudness War'), but there’s less range in the recording and as a result lower fidelity.

@JackFechino @yescaptain As crazy as it sounds, the fact that some of our portals are quieter than other audio sources is actually something we've done deliberately to recreate the full dynamic range of the sound (the difference between quiet and loud) so that it’s more natural and true to life....
