~ New episode of the Vegan Skyrim Challenge Series over on my YouTube Channel ~
- - - - -
In this episode, we ethically acquire some new dragon shouts, our very first spell, and then discuss whether or not it would be okay to become a vampire!
An underappreciated aspect of Gen Z is that they understand the importance of conveying information in a concise manner
Prior to the advent of TikTok this would only be on YouTube with a 1-min stock music intro where a dude talks over wind beating into his mic for 22 minutes
@MBeefmaster
the last thing my father asked of me on his death bed was "don't let your aunt take our steam cleaner she'll never give it back"
he was right and I failed him
Pushing back on there being some deeper philosophical profundity at play, wherein we've been trained to view bite-sized content as consumers
In THIS particular context - I'd just rather not have to skip around through a 30min video to learn how to change my dang wiper blades
I found an ENTIRE CASTLE in Dwarf Fortress that was being occupied by a small group of kobolds
I sent a party of 5 dwarves over to demand tribute, and got the funniest possible loot screen imaginable
@k_a_aitch
Video titled "10 SHOCKING Ways To Repair A Tire!!" and in the thumbnail he's got a shocked face next to a shirtless woman wearing a tire around her torso
I enjoy long-form content for the record. Hell, I create my own (check out my shitty youtube channel pls)
It's just not the preferred format when you're panicking on the side of the road with a flat tire
Not a Gen-Z example, but
@Mrdodobird
created this video which fits the concept & 100% unironically changed the trajectory of my entire life
(Within a few years I went from being a copy tech to the 3D modeling/printing expert for a college, thanks to this tutorial as a gateway)
@terminallyOL
The reveal at the peak of the communism questline where you meet with the secret communist society and see what they spend their time doing is, on its face, one of the funniest critiques of left discourse I've ever seen (while also being very endearing)
@Skett19
@MBeefmaster
it's all good
this was way back when I was 11
I mean my dad still haunts me, rattling chains and moaning "WHY DIDN'T YOU LISTEN"
But like, the house got foreclosed on a few years after he died and the next place didn't even have carpet - so we didn't even need the steam cleaner

Laser weapons technology is going to advance not because it's optimal, but because of arbitrary legalistic interpretations of international law

The 1st time I heard the "it's not a bug, it's a feature" line was in 2010 watching a Notch livestream where he showed off newly coded features for Infdev & a spider scaled the wall of his base even though he hadn't intended for that mechanic
Sucks that he's a weird racist now
@AlfYonkin
I'd agree that a majority of video games are just a fun gameplay loop with an arbitrary narrative tacked on - but to discount an entire form of media as a platform for art feels reactionary
Like, the concepts within a novel don't suddenly gain merit due to their form of delivery
Mom told me about a patient who didn't show up for appointments for a over month
When he showed back up, she asked how he'd been and he told her he went hiking and met a man in a robe who offered him cocaine
He took it, but then couldn't find his way back home for 3 weeks
Nick Mullen line once joked about having an intrusive thought to punch a baby on the subway - which he followed with:
"I don't actually want to hurt a baby. I just want people to be mad at me."
I genuinely think that's how a certain segment of the population engages with life
@sawmill_thrill
@fulbergunch
he's having such a good time
how could you possibly care that someone missed the subtext to your game when you can see how much joy you've brought into the world
@Java_jigga
He even added watermelons (a very specific choice to add as the 2nd crop in the game) in the same update as Endermen
Also, their whole "inability to swim or get in water", thing
Notch was incredibly unsubtle with the racist stuff

@thinkiamsad
I like how the plane is already at like a 25° roll angle to the left - so if anything Obama is trying to correct them into the towers lol
Small segment from a compilation I'm throwing together of the best bits from the
@CHAPOTRAPHOUSE
commentary for Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Watto Menace
@AlfYonkin
What, specifically, is intrinsic to the format of a novel that grants it more artistic validity?
Does an audiobook recording of the same text possess lesser artistic value?
The train of argument leads down a path towards there being some "objective" artform - which feels silly
@PrisonPlanet
hear that brother
My kid keeps whining about his seizures, like "Dad, I have epilepsy."
I told him to quit his bellyaching before I give him a REAL seizure (result of cranial trauma) to whine about.
Seeing the incredibly talented
@b0tster
work on this amazing passion project over the past several years has been such an incredible experience
You should ABSOLUTELY go download this amazing game for free on Steam right now!
@Toomertastic
CONCLUSION:
Borders should not be determined by treaties & imaginary lines on a map - but rather by physical perimeters upon which we collectively spray our piss & shit on trees
