History was made today as Pontprennau primary entered its first sports competition against other schools. Every pupil represented the school brilliantly, all completing the huge cross country course and showing excellent behaviour and manners throughout well done all.

We had a fabulous morning together in our End of Year Extravaganza. Our staff band performed as did our choir, we had individual Year 6 performances, fun games between staff and we bid farewell to our wonderful Year 6. Half a day left!

This morning, the Pontprennau Wombles (with Mr. James) went out on a litter pick around the school site and the field next door. A surprising amount of litter was found including some items that seem to have been fly tipped. We have safely disposed the items

A fantastic Roman Day for our Year 4s. Some incredible costumes! The children enjoyed learning Roman numerals to play Snakes and Ladders, they took part in a virtual Roman Bootcamp and performed their Battle cries with passion and hwyl!

We will have live dance competitions, a live choir competition, the results of the staff competition, the results of the parents competition, singing Welsh songs and some surprises! Then in the afternoon we will Chair our Bard. All to play for in Eisteddfod 2023!

Now this afternoon we will have The Chairing of The Bard before we watch a range of entertainment for them. Welsh dancing, pianists, a solo singer, our choir and even our staff band will all perform for The Bard - and the rest of us will get to watch it too!
