Please, never EVER tell an artist that their artwork quality has dropped.We already internally beat ourselves enough about that.We have our ups and downs and stresses.One negative comment of disappointment could hurdle an artist even more.Be patient & we'll get back to our glory.

Side note: surely each format has its different rules, so vertical-to-page format is def not gonna be like a page that's been planned from scratch. And the same can be said for the opposite.But in this thread I want to show that it's very doable, and it can still look great

I draw my webtoon on a 2400 px wide canvas & I printed my book in A5.I went for 300 dpi res as it's good enough for a color book (monochrome needs 600 dpi).With these dimensions my webtoon panels were big enough to make a lot of horizontal panels that fit the page format nicely

Unpopular opinion maybe but I think short-style drawing timelapse videos are only satisfying to watch but they're not informative.Long form YT speedpaints on the contrary are an actual learning experience. I picked many techniques over the years just by watching them.

Now the trickiest part is arranging the panels. It's not a drag-and-drop process, it needs some planning and thinking outside of the box. Some panels may need cropping, zooming in, breaking into two panels, drawing missing parts

As I worked on hundreds of pages I learned that the best approach to planning pages is by making a rough draft.Grab your panels in the quickest manner (i just screenshot mine) and mash them together in a page with lasso tool and quick editing

Ofc there's alot more to say on this, but I hope it changed your mind a bit on the webtoon to page notion.While it may not be perfect, it can still be beautiful!.I'm very proud and happy with the book I made.And I'm so excited to design my upcoming volumes!

Doing this will save you loads of trouble and help you maintain your sanity, trust me.I learned this the hard way, where I had to redesign a couple of pages just because I needed to shift one or two panels 😩.Now I'm approaching volume 2 with lots of rough drafts!

Another tip I'd add is: make your images bleed through the edges as much as you can!.Eliminating those blank edges will really up the aesthetics of your pages and your book will feel more colorful
