Just wanna say that last night was one of the most amazing and surreal experiences of my life. I’m so lucky that I get to do what I do. Thank you all so much.
It’s cool to me that all the singers on this tour care about vocal health a lot. We all have steamers and we all warm up obnoxiously backstage and I feel so validated.
If in my lifetime, I ever got the opportunity to be interviewed by Nardwuar, I want him to know that he doesn’t need to get me any cool rare vinyl if he really wanted to help me out he could just pay my utility bill or something.
It is weird playing in the same room that Deerhoof is gonna play in. It’s even weirder when that room isn’t empty. Life’s really crazy. I’m feeling grateful.
If I had a nickel for every instance I knew of where a power pop band rhymed the words “school” and “pool” in the first couplet of the song, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
I think it’s really cool that we got to make a really good looking music video on a small budget between the knowledge resources and enthusiasm of just our friends.
It’s so weird… when I write guitar parts for Carly I think about how to make the parts sound interesting while remaining ergonomic and intuitive… so why the fuck do I write the most uncomfortable rhythm guitar parts for other shit?
To the tune of “Bet on It”:
🎶everybody’s always honking at me
everybody’s tryna hit my van
I wanna reach my destination safely
But I really don’t think I can🎶
weatherbox musical about a guy who sells his soul to the devil to be the best musician in the world but he’s in a local band that’s kinda cringe so ppl don’t really notice or care
