We are launching a new board today 🫡
Good things come in small packages and to prove that point, today we’re launching the Pineboards HatDrive! Nano, offering a 2230/2242 M-Key M.2 HAT for the Raspberry Pi in a tiny 55x34mm footprint!
It is available for 9 EUR (+ VAT) from our
We reached the velocity of 200 packages in one day 🫡
I don’t think we’ll be able to double that with our current head count but ever now we should be able to process the entire backlog before Christmas.
BTW, we are not yet done with the wave of orders that happened after the
We finally have an office / warehouse. We should get it up an running in a day or two 🫡
There is a small room for a rack also, I think we’d need to challenge

Time for flashing, QA and packaging.
@Mirko_DIY
outdid himself with our new production panels, they are beautiful.
We can’t wait to start shipping the HatNET 2.5G in the upcoming days 😎
It looks like we’re adding something new to the store soon 🤓
It’s Ethernet week, we still have to flash the MAC addresses and package them but the first batch of boards is already in our hands.
We didn’t cheap out on the hardware too, we use the same brand of connectors that

Time for the next part of the office updates. Yesterday the place was almost empty, today we fully moved in and got to work.
@Mirko_DIY
is making some test boards for us. We have the retail packaging for the HatDrive! done and the printer is up. Not the one we wanted to setup…
Thanks for the suggestion for some improvements for the HatDrive! Top 😇 It aligns with what we figured out a few weeks back.
A little birdie told me that the HatDrive! Top will have the camera cutout and some other small updates very very soon, we are burning through existing
We’re treating ourselves with 800

We also feel sorry for the person that’ll be unboxing every single one of them 🤓
The wait is almost over. Retail version of our NVMe drive is finally done!
Both 2280 (standard) and 2242 variants (high endurance, industrial) variants will be available in our store ~next week 🚀
Thank you for visiting us at Embedded World 2024 🤩
We need more to bring more people next year, there were moments where there was a queue to visit us.
We’re going back to Poland now to pack all the new orders asap ☺️
We also have new boards that we’ve shown on EW that will
We’ve spent all night putting together a few golden samples of the HatDrive! on the final PCB. There are some small improvements but overall it is mostly unchanged 😁

When you buy an Ethernet NIC from random brands don’t be surprised to find that manufactures reuse MAC Addresses and use prefixes registered to other brands (Apple, Dell, HP etc). This is a huge no-no for enterprise and academic applications.
We even found some cards don’t have
We have to test the every possible stacking combination with the HatBRICK! Commander before they start shipping 😏
HatNet 2.5G + HatDrive Net 1G looks nice 😍☺️
If you happen to design a nice enclosure for a Pi with our HatDrive! we would love to reward you with an option to have any of our upcoming products for free (priority international shipping included!).
It gets even better, since we are going to release new boards every month
We have the final ribbons for the retail version of the HatDrive Top. The length is perfect now, it doesn’t stick out at all.
They also have more copper than our prototypes

@Ubiquiti
The setup experience was a solid 12/10, now I just need to handle the NVR.
Our HatDrive! Nano has received a 5-star review and the Editor's Choice badge from Tom's Hardware! They praised its performance, affordability, and seamless integration with Raspberry Pi 5. „You’re not going to find a better M.2 HAT for your Raspberry Pi," they said.

Plenty of Electrifying new products are on the way next month, it's going to be another great month 🥳
Does anyone have a good guess as to what this is yet?
You'll be missed, Pineberry!
The maintenance is now over and we're back with a new brand. It'll get some getting used to but we'll get there eventually.
While the 'fruit + pi' naming convention served us well in the past, it often suggested that we were manufacturing
It's been 3 months since our official launch of the store and our business (15th Nov 2023), so we have reasons to sum up this period 🎆🎂
It was a time of very intense work on products, effort put into creating the store, building the brand, relationships
So who is waiting for our own NVMe SSD and the HatDrive! Piano?
Those things are not live on the website yet but we’ve discussed them on the show. Listen to the recording for details.
Can’t wait to start shipping those things out next month.
Maybe 3x NVMe and Coral?
The best thing is that you’ll reuse the ribbon cables and metal standoffs from the individual hats. 3x bottom format needs 3x 40mm etc
STACK’EM UP 😎
We have to test the every possible stacking combination with the HatBRICK! Commander before they start shipping 😏
HatNet 2.5G + HatDrive Net 1G looks nice 😍☺️
After
@bretweber
put the Pinedrive on the
@pimoroni
board we also went on a fishing expedition and there are casualties.
The NVMe base has a proprietary ribbon cable that has 16 pins on one end and 18 pins on the other end. We noticed when we turned on the board with our ribbon
We’ve been busy with getting new boards finished this month and they are ready to be mass manufactured right now.
We won’t do any preorders or post full specs before they are live in our store but we can play a little game: guess what this particular board does just by looking
No summer break at Pineboards.
This took a while but we wanted to get it done right, no safety concerns, no EMC issues, thermal testing. POE+ HatDrive will be very nice 😎
Now you can order our "HatNET! 2.5G Ethernet board for Raspberry Pi 5" directly by Amazon US 🥳
So far it's only one available such product for Raspberry Pi 5 on Amazon 💪
We've incorporated a few weeks ago in a small Airbnb in Kraków. Now we are renting another one and preparing components for production. 6K M.2 slots look nice on a large spool. Exciting!
PS: Pineberries go well with Raspberries. Don't you think?
@Raspberry_Pi
, we don't bite ;)
7 bags of packages, 50 envelopes in every one of them.
This is the morning drop to FedEx; maybe I’ll do another one at noon 🫡
Kudos to the entire team 🔥🚀
Getting ready for the Pinedrive launch
First small batch of both 2242 and 2282 variants will be available to ship right away. We are trying to improve the process and avoid rushing things.
Our new photo rig is ready too. There is one other new product hidden somewhere…
New stuff in the store!
Hat Ai! can now be purchased in a bundle with the Google Coral Edge TPU 😁
@geerlingguy
mentioned the TPU was hard to buy a while ago and it aligns with what our customers had to say.
We became distributors for Coral and we can quickly restock them 🫡
Our documentation is up on
What can you find there?
- HatDrive installation tutorial
- NVMe boot tutorial
- NVMe drive compatibility list with benchmarks
- 3D models for case designers
Our HatBRICK Commander works well with 3rd party boards too 😁

New product launch! 🚀
You can now purchase our Pinedrive in 2242 size. It is more expensive than the 2280 since it is a custom variant made just for us, short drives are not very popular on the PC market but we see a huge market for them.
Join us in Hannover for the Maker Faire this weekend!
On top of our entire lineup we’ll be gaming on the

New board prototypes will also be on display 😎

Amazon is slowly processing our packages with 100s of boards for the US market. Some things are available to order already, this means free prime shipping and no need for us to send anything overseas with FedEx (saves you 19$ on each order).
We’ll stock up other SKUs soon :)
A side note: we’d be happy to work with someone on a case that works well with our bottom boards, we’re committed to the footprint and will continue adding more boards with different connectors on them 😁
We might end up doing something on our own at some point but that we don’t

It seems like Pi Day celebration started a little bit earlier this year. Use code „PI” to get €3.14 off your Pineberry Pi order until the end of the week
Includes all products, it looks like we’ll start shipping preorders ahead of schedule 👀
Pineberries all over the place 🚀 Have fun!
We are trying to keep up with the demand for press samples but the wait should be over for all of us soon. Monday will be huge for us, we are going to hold first mass-produced panels 👀
We’re serving Hats on the Rock today on our blog today!

Pineberry Santa is in the house! 🎄🎅🏼
We got a small number of Hat Ai boards, if you ordered one shortly after we made it available expect it to ship very soon 🔥
New boards are starting to ship 😎
We’ll remove the preorder message from the store in a few days when we clear the backlog.
This was a smooth launch for us, no delays, everything worked perfectly 🥳
We have finished prototyping a new generation of our NVMe standoff.
@geerlingguy
suggested that you shouldn’t have to remove the HAT in order to change the drive and the new design solves that issue.
It’ll take a while for this to reach customers since we have a lot of accessory
Ho ho ho 🎅🏻
We are launching a new board today!
Hat Ai! is your gateway to integrating the Google Coral Edge TPU into your Raspberry Pi 5 projects. We are making 1000 initially, the boards will ship in January. Grab one before we run out 🫡
The MSRP is 16,99 EUR + VAT
Talking about fun boards, get ready for next week.
The uPCIty is finally going live 🥳
We were hoping to include it a while ago but those low volume SKUs don’t exactly earn a lot and we had to recover from scaling up our production last month 🫡
There will be a X4 (open
I love seeing how the Raspberry Pi ecosystem can boost people who are passionate about engineering—in this case giving a couple hardware hackers the ability to sell products and work on these things full-time!
Can't wait to test some of their fun HATs like the AI + NVMe HAT!
This is how I save over $1000/mo on compute, storage, and bandwidth costs for my AI side projects: a total of 52 CPU cores, 104GB RAM, 3TB NVMe, unlimited ingress/egress, and less than 100W power consumption.
The taller cluster runs API servers built with the Transformer.js
Uff, we shipped over 700 packages this week.
Hate mail is starting to show up in our mailboxes, it would be nice if everyone read the product page before pulling the trigger 🙃 I’m immune to this but it is not nice to wake up every day to tons of messages like this
@pimoroni
@Raspberry_Pi
CNC something, we gave up with the plastic ones. They were crap. The one we designed also grabs the drive. They are not very expensive if made at a large scale.
Welcome to the NVMe club, it felt lonely. Did you get the docs from
@Raspberry_Pi
or handled it like us?
Holy cow the Raspberry Pi is fast with an NVME pci-e card in it. Booting off the NVME is quick too; I’ve taken out three SD card and it’s soooo stupidly quick. Chrome is quicker to load than on my M1 Mac.
Great work

So GPUs finally work on the Pi 5 and our board made it possible. We don’t sell the devkit (yet?) but we are happy to help the community. If you need one for a crazy project like this feel free to reach out 🫡
Our friends at
@ThePiHut
have just listed a new layer case that works with _all_ our boards and it includes a lot of standoffs. We highly recommend this product, who knows - maybe we’ll end up stocking it in our store one day.

The first production batch of new products announced 2 weeks ago has arrived as expected and we are in the process of mass processing the goods and preparing for shipment 🥳
We launched some new product today! 🚀
You can now purchase our Pinedrive NVMe SSD (2280), a smaller 2242 variant will join next week. Benchmarks available on our docs page and they should show up on Pibenchmarks soon.
PCIe FPC bundle that includes our 100mm ribbon cable is
It’s funny since we suggested that approach before the spec was published and let’s just say the response wasn’t kind at all.
This means every HAT/HAB on the market will work without anything other than the FPC cable. That’s great since you don’t need anything else for NVMe to
Our HatDrive! POE+ kernel overlay / HAT+ EEPROM is working perfectly so we can finally start manufacturing the first batch.
5A rated, USB max current enabled with no configuration required after install. First product on the market with that kind of support 🫡
