Husband update: chemo regimen has failed. We're going for a consultation with his Mayo multiple myeloma specialist to start a new regimen. In the mean time the cancer is causing bone pain in his chest & ribcage. Your prayers are appreciated
Husband update: since his diagnosis with multiple myeloma nearly 3 years ago I've never seen him this sick. Please pray for us, he's taken a turn for the worse
We're in Rochester for an appointment tomorrow morning with my husband's multiple myeloma transplant hematologist tomorrow: if you have a moment to offer a quick prayer for the correct treatment plan
I ask for prayers for my husband alot on here but today I'm asking you to lift me up in prayer so I can face what needs to be faced today with my husband's cancer. My spirit is lacking
Protestant friend: the rosary is an empty repetitive prayer
Me: it's a prayer that makes you meditate on the life of Jesus. It's 100% about Jesus
Friend:
Husband update: great news! His plasma cell counts are normal which means he's had outstanding response to chemo! He proceeds to transplant with good expectation for remission! DEO GRATIAS
Husband update: you'll remember he fell out of remission this year. His chemo was adjusted & today we found out his myeloma proteins are back down to remission levels!! Deo Gratias!!
Ok it's official, our Bishop
@BishopBarron
has ejected the TLM from our parish where it's been reverently in place for over 10yrs. Was announced today at mass.
Ok, our daughters last run at labor stalled but this time she's 8 days overdue & in hospital so looks like it's a go. If you have a moment please say a quick 🙏 for a safe delivery?
Ok my husband's mayo hematology appointment went well, we have more treatment options than we realized & we left with hope! Thank-you so much for your prayers!
Words cannot express my admiration for my husband. He took the news of his cancer diagnosis like a man. He's referring to an invasive & painful bone cancer that is crushing his vertebrae as a "gift from God"
We're in Las Vegas for a conference & my husband has suddenly developed a fever which could be serious with his recent neutropenia. Please pray he recovers without complications 🙏
Prayer request: we have friends who live in Equador & due to the political unrest & armed conflict they are in danger. Pray for their safe escape please.
Day 3 since my brother's death, spent a long day yesterday making all the calls to bank, his work, etc. She is too distraught to do this & I'm glad to help. Today I'm getting up my courage to go through his clothes & things. This is hard.
We arrived in Lourdes yesterday. We prayed for all your intentions at the night procession and night mass at the Grotto. Will bring all your intentions each day, feel free to leave more in replies or DMs
My cousin is currently with child & her unborn son has been diagnosed with cystic hygroma which is highly fatal but ultrasound today showed strong heart tones. Please pray for a miracle cure. 🙏
My 84 year old mother has been not feeling well for days. Will likely take her to the ER today. If you have a moment please offer a small prayer for her.
Not sure if this is unique but most everything I do & think is done to distract me from how badly my children have broken my heart 💔 I pray all of you fare better than I have
Husband update: labs today show he's almost neutropenic so one chemo put on hold, neupogen for 2 days & watch for fever. Please say a quick prayer that he is protected from infection? TY so much for your prayers ❤️❤️
For all those praying for my husband
@AndrewStJames4
and I during all his multiple myeloma treatment, I need to say again I hope to meet you all in heaven & thank you in person
Ok, our daughters last run at labor stalled but this time she's 8 days overdue & in hospital so looks like it's a go. If you have a moment please say a quick 🙏 for a safe delivery?
In these 5 years of illness with multiple myeloma including many hospitalizations, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, bone marrow transplant, 5 yrs of chemo & periods of intense pain, my husband has not complained once. He's taken everything like a man.
So I'm trying to figure out how one grows old without growing bitter & angry. In my experience as a nurse about 75 - 80% of elderly are angry but this is scewed by illness perhaps?
Can one decide to be agreeable & sweet? How can we avoid bitterness in age?
Husband update:
#multiplemyeloma
proteins have dropped so low he's been granted a break from chemo. He's feeling better now than he has since this nightmare began. Deo Gratias & please dont stop praying for him!
Husband update: oncology appt today went well. Multiple myeloma markers have been very stable. Scheduled a bone marrow biopsy in 1 mo. to check definitive status, that he may be in remission. Yes I said REMISSION
Husband update: pain under good control. PET scan results show multiple areas of multiple myeloma recurrence which is not good news but not a surprise. He will need radiation & a new chemo regimen to get this under control. Thank you again for your prayers
Christmas miracle at my home, daughter who hadn't talked to my husband & I for nearly a year came over with her husband & even said "I love you" nothing is possible for God ❤️
Husband update: initial radiation oncology appt today has been a ray of sunshine. Multiple myeloma responds well to radiation. We can anticipate good results.
I'm 54 & my husband has an incurable cancer, both of these things means I face our mortality every day. That's not a bad thing but it happens faster than any of you could imagine.
Husband update: new immunotherapy chemo treatment continues, he is still inpatient. Today having problems with cytokine release syndrome. Please pray these cytokines leave him alone?
I love the Catholic church, from her dogmas & doctrines I dissent from nothing. I wish to live & die an obedient daughter of the church. In time & in eternity, amen +
The stress involved in having a spouse with cancer is indescribable. I walk around feeling stress that is so overwhelming I just let it go - let it wash over me & surrender utterly to God. This means I am super stressed & super calm at the same time. His will be done.
Finally back in Minnesota, currently in my husband's hospital room. He's having a terrible time with cytokine release syndrome, blood pressure is low, getting IV fluids. Say a prayer for him.
We're at my husband's oncologist office now awaiting his phone consult with Rochester myeloma specialists, together they will decide which chemo regimen to put him on. Please pray they make the best decision
Some weeks ago I asked prayers for a neighbor who fell in his yard twice- today he's entering hospice. He is a long fallen away Catholic, please pray for the salvation of Bruce
