@michaelcmarquis @ilzizzo @JustinTrudeau Wait till the deportees leave the US and start to go to Canada, instead of going back to their home countries. That’s when this will be even more effective

This is a cost the american people will endure, in order to stop using cheap foreign labor, and work towards improving the lives of their neighbors. Instead of saving 5-7$ An hour on ilegal cleaning ladies, hire american, or newsflash - maybe you can’t afford to have your house cleaned so get off your ass and do it yourself. You are a cog in the slavery system, knowing damn well no one can have an open border country. So you still hire illegally and wag your finger, please. Instead of hiring cheap Mexican roofers, or a white boss and his crew of illegal subs - pay an american roofing company to put a high quality roof on your house. American roofers existed before (my wife’s uncle was, an american roofers- crazy idea) and will be back to service.

A shirt made in the USA is not going to be $3-4, it’s going to cost $8-12. And you know what? I’m okay with paying for that knowing my neighbors, Americans, are being utilized. Do you like seeing all the cracked out small american towns where people live on welfare and dream of the industries that once were. I don’t.

@LoVaTiCvIc1996 @TheNintenBlurb @TJBirchok @itstommaga @acnewsitics That’s the same thought process upstanding libs have when talking about their underpaid, illegal cleaning ladies. Keep the slavery going.

Big deal, it would far easier for the USA to adapt than it would be for Canada and Mexico to find a new market as big as the USA. To achieve economic independence in the context of tariff wars, the United States would need to focus on sectors where it currently relies heavily on imports or international supply chains. Here are the top 5 sectors identified based on the information available: 1. **Electronics and Semiconductors**: - **Import Dependency**: The U.S. relies significantly on imports for semiconductors and electronic components, which are critical for modern technology and manufacturing. - **Progress Towards Independence**: There has been a push towards domestic semiconductor manufacturing, with initiatives like the CHIPS and Science Act. However, the U.S. is still far from self-sufficiency, as much of the world's advanced semiconductor production is concentrated in Asia, particularly Taiwan and South Korea. 2. **Automotive Industry (Including Parts)**: - **Import Dependency**: The U.S. imports substantial amounts of automobiles and auto parts, particularly from Mexico and Canada. - **Progress Towards Independence**: Domestic production exists, but many vehicles and parts are integrated into global supply chains. The U.S. has been working on reshoring some manufacturing, but it's not yet at a level to be fully independent without significant investment and time. 3. **Energy (Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy Components)**: - **Import Dependency**: While the U.S. has significant domestic oil and natural gas resources, it still imports refined products and components for renewable energy technologies. - **Progress Towards Independence**: The U.S. is closer to self-sufficiency in basic energy commodities due to shale oil and gas, but it depends on imports for certain technologies in renewables. Continued investment in domestic refining and renewable energy could move it closer to independence. 4. **Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies**: - **Import Dependency**: A considerable amount of pharmaceuticals and medical devices are imported, with China being a major supplier, especially for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). - **Progress Towards Independence**: There's been a push to bring more pharmaceutical manufacturing back to the U.S., especially post-COVID-19, but the industry still has a long way to go due to the complexity and global nature of pharmaceutical supply chains. 5. **Agriculture and Food Processing**: - **Import Dependency**: While the U.S. is a major exporter of agricultural products, it also imports various food products, especially fruits, vegetables, and specialty items where domestic production might not be economically viable or seasonal. - **Progress Towards Independence**: The U.S. has robust agricultural capabilities but would need to expand or adapt certain areas of production like fruits and vegetables year-round to reduce imports. This would involve significant changes in agricultural practices, labor, and technology. **How Close We Are to That Goal**: - **Electronics**: Far from goal, significant investment and time needed. - **Automotive**: Moderate distance, ongoing efforts but still dependent on international supply chains. - **Energy**: Closer, especially in fossil fuels, but renewable tech components lag behind. - **Pharmaceuticals**: Considerable distance, with ongoing efforts but still highly dependent on global supply. - **Agriculture**: Relatively close for staple crops but less so for diverse or out-of-season products. Achieving full independence in these sectors would require massive shifts in policy, infrastructure, and economic strategy, involving billions in investments, changes in labor markets, and possibly significant environmental and regulatory adjustments. Moreover, complete isolationism might not be economically or politically feasible or desirable, given the benefits of global trade.

@TheNintenBlurb @TJBirchok @itstommaga @acnewsitics Are you ok? I said Canadian products will have to LOWER their costs to offset the tariff levied on them. They have to do that to stay competitive, and good luck substituting that with exports outside the North America.

The system will re regulate back to mean. China needs the US much more then we need them. You underestimate their persistence. They will continue lowering their costs and tank their workers purchasing power in order to do it. We need to focus on USA first. 10% is not enough, even with Logisitcs chineese stuff is still much cheaper. But you directly get what you pay for. When you buying some machinery made in the USA it lasts 5x more.

Tariffs make the other guys have to lower their prices to compete with american goods. That’s not taxing the american consumer. So either a) the american buys american goods or b) they get an extremely good deal from another country’s product - which in turn makes our companies have to innovate and lower prices / up quality. Either way you slice it, it’s better for Americans.
