In the early morning hours of Memorial Day, my home, where I’m raising my two children, was vandalized with Antifa symbols and profanity.
Although my kids and I are thankfully fine, these criminal acts are unacceptable no matter your politics.
Hey, I’ve had family Pinochet’ed by actual Pinochet soldiers and I’m telling you, this is a massive red flag that needs to be headline news. You have no idea how fast this shit happens.
@JennyENicholson
I came home with a crow when I was 5. Kids bring home snakes and frogs and puppies that “followed them home” all the time. This way parents can say “you remember the magical polka dotted warthog? It had to go home too.”
These shows are providing a service.
Twenty years ago this evening, I opened my email and there was the approved script for Y-The Last Main

. I took notes and did photo refs searches into the early hours. I wrote back to Brian about being so excited to start the next day.
Quite a bit has happened since then.
So what exactly drives a guy to walk up to an artist’s table (an artist with 30 years working experience, mind), flip through her prints and keep suggesting over and over “Oh a bit of stark white would go well here. Contrast! Make it pop!”
Dude.
Superheroes aren’t super because of their powers, it’s because they do what’s *right*.
Sure Batman can kill a guy and be done with the problem, but he wouldn’t be a hero.
Superman could just snap a neck, but he wouldn’t be super.
Heroes find a better way. Always.

Specifically addressing that school shootings that happen in peacful suburban neighbourhoods where “this sort of thing never happens” despite it happening over and over again. Also, that the majority of victims tend to be female.
Yes, the comic is garbage and made from stolen art, and he’ll never be able to make any money creating a wildly inconsistent book this way… but my, is he trying to make $ from his blue check engagement here.
Screenshot and eviscerate. Don’t engage with grifters.
Okay, this needs to be said. The comics industry is unlike any other arts related industry out there. It’s not like book publishing, or fashion or advertising, it doesn’t have those solid walls separating management, artists and consumers.
based on dc comics’ acclaimed series, y: the last man traverses an apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. arrives sept 13, exclusively on

This is an absolutely fair criticism. I was focused on the this and Sandy Hook’s (and Columbine etc) victims and should have been more mindful of the diversity. I drew a couple of kids that hinted at them being black but clearly, not enough.
Reminder: crossing the border illegally is a MISDEMEANOUR, not a felony.
Most people convicted of misdemeanours get fines, community service and at most, a year in jail.
THEY DON’T LOSE THEIR KIDS FOREVER.

Hi Johnathan, if you’d like to include it as part of a story that’s fine but if you’re thinking of using it as an editorial cartoon I’ll need to talk to you about compensation and rates.
@C_L_G_S
In trying to counter the “This never happens here!” comment you hear over and over again, and its quite racist implications, I went with majority white victims, while also emphasizing how many are women... basically trying to make more than one point...
Hi I’m Pia Guerra, I’m an artist best known for penciling on Y-The Last man. I’ve done art for covers including Hulk and Red Sonja, editorial cartoons for the Nib (and my Twitter account) and cartoons for the New Yorker Magazine.

Guys, this is freelance. I shared this on social media and has become its own story. Reporters can report on it. My point here is, when someone wants to use work as its own piece then it’s ok for the artist to ask to be compensated. It’s not awkward.
Everyone moaning about their GOP reps voting against democracy, have you called them? Have you picked up the phone and called your rep to complain? Or were you just hoping someone else would do it?
The calls matter. They act when the numbers are high enough.
CALL!
Those asking about whether they can use my reaper cartoon to make a sign for personal use (no merch!) then grab a high res here:

Inclusion, representation, fresh new ideas... that’s not an “SJW” agenda, it’s smart business.
If your solution is to go back to the old days, gimmicks and staid rehashes, then be my guest, hop right back into that pit.
You belong there.
“But-but- if healthcare is available to everyone, people would overuse it!”
Average use of healthcare by Canadians: 2 visits a year.
Yeah, just fuck off with your bullshit fear mongering. Universal access works.
