@DJDynamicUK Hey man, do you chew your own food or need it to be turned into a puree and spoon fed to you first?.

@Metal_Crow This is a likely outcome when you use inflated language to sound profound rather than speaking plainly.

"Quiet Quitting" is a popular term for those punching down in the class war; meanwhile, the silent wage theft perpetuated on our teachers is rampant and normalized.
If teachers were compensated for their unpaid overtime they would collectively earn $77.5 billion more, according to a new analysis from @myelearnworld. The average US teacher works 540 hours more than they're contracted for. That’s 1.74 billion hours of unpaid overtime.

Nowhere near enough effort is being put into addressing the root causes of why people like Joe Rogan and Alex Jones are able to rake in millions for being consistently and dangerously wrong about things. We all know what they are at this point, and yet the body count continues.
So much stupid in such a condensed segment. Joe manages in 1 min to demonstrate how bad his reasoning is, how terrible his sources of information are, what a shit comedian he is, how far down the conspiracy rabbit hole he is, and how genuinely terrified he is of vaccines.

My favorite new flavor of conspiracy theory is the conspiracy-conspiracy, where "they" trick conspiracy theorists into believing conspiracy theories.
this week in psychosis, Bret thinks Kamala wearing pearl earrings during the debate was a trap set by Goliath to trick Bret's internet friends into believing she was wearing a wire in order to discredit them

@Staroxvia @nikicaga That would make it an "interview necessity", not a moral one. It was a ridiculously bad choice of words, exacerbated by Jordan's need to be seen as deep and profound.

It sucks that Pete Hotez has to be both an expert on vaccine development, and conspiracy theories. Would be nice to live in a world where he only had to focus on the former.
1/n Nuremberg 2.0 is a QAnon far-right fantasy that the Covid vaccine scientists & virologists will be tried at some sort of military tribunal similar to those following WWII. It’s an excuse to invoke Nazi imagery, designed to intimidate scientists, portray us as public enemies.

@realJonRiley Is there any more information on this? The only news article that comes up references Twitter in a citation ouroboros.

@UltraVioletPod @caitlinmoriah Claire has publicly rejected a lot of the antimask/antivax hysteria and related galaxy brain nonsense in the last year or so; can't have been good for subscriptions from that base.

I'm old enough to remember when a whole magazine about HIV denialism had to shutter its doors because the staff all died of AIDS.
Nice of Bret to use his appearance in front of millions of listeners on Rogan today to talk about how he is now an HIV/AIDS denialist. He finds the evidence that AIDS is not caused by HIV but by the gay lifestyle to be "surprisingly compelling."

I don't want Joe Rogan to be censored. I want Joe Rogan to change his mind. Imagine how much of an impact for the better it would be if his audience was exposed to credible information instead of conspiracies, and science instead of snake oil.

@WADeptHealth This is an ideological statement, not an evidence-based policy position. "Trusting" our bodies which were adapted to seek high-calorie foods because they were scarce for our ancestors (but widely available today) is how you increase the obesity epidemic.

I don't want to be that guy (any more than necessary), but since nobody's saying it loud enough—people's need for comforting belief and assurance in the face of an indifferent universe is the mark, but Religion itself is the grift.

@thomaschattwill The perverse incentive of intersectionality is that the more victimized you are by birth or circumstance, the more social capital you have with those who see this as a reason why your voice should be amplified over others.

The quote tweets are my daily reminder of how I could have made wheelbarrows of cash by changing my username to something like "Pebcak the Natufian" and grifting off these gullible marks if it wasn't for pesky morals.
The saddest reality is that many dudes will take the word of another dude who is visibly strong over that of a highly credentialed expert who looks physically weak or even just average.

The reason shitleeches like Andrew Tate—and to a lesser extent, dudes like Liver King and V Shred—have so much success preying on young men's innate drive to physical prowess is precisely because they're stepping into an information gap unfilled by better men.
Watch an actual sports scientist (@misraetel) just absolutely gorilla stomp all over Andrew Tate's garbage workout instructional video:
