@USAS_WW1 @museedesblindes @TankieMike @milmodelscene Thanks Narayan! The wonder of the iPhone. My larger camera (Canon) is good for taking photos across arenas, but struggles inside buildings, while the iPhone tackles low light but its digital zoom isn’t up to much.

A bit disappointed with this as similar @OspreyBooks are reliably good. Interesting campaign, but the text doesn’t flow and some areas have too much detail while others lack it. Plus a bugbear of mine, the maps don’t show half the places referred to in the text. #WW2 #books

An Alvis 'Shadow' Offensive Strike Vehicle prototype at the @TanksFirepower Show last year. It was a joint project btwn Alvis and AM General in the late 1990s - a Land Rover-HMMWV hybrid. Max speed 75mph and portable by Chinook and Hercules, but sadly no sales. #walkaround

@HistorianBlood @ihr_history Excellent! I have his ‘The Third Reich’ on my shelf too so will dig into that at some point. Currently just started Peter Fleming’s ‘Invasion 1940’, published in 1957. It’s my father’s copy which he bought in 1961.
