So I reposted this tweet, and I did so with way way too much apathy. It's a generations-old conversation that's been had to wit's end. In talking to one of my boys it is clear I shouldn't have done so, with such a nonchalant attitude. I have had and always had many friends of differing dedication to their Jewish faith. I don't possess an ounce of anti-semitism, never have. Opinions like the one posted elicit conversations and in rational adults they elicit deep conversations. I always like those conversations and enjoy getting into them. Anyone who took this repost as some sort of endorsement of anti-semitism, you were wrong. I could have done a far better job of elaborating, given I didn't elaborate even a little, and that's on me, and I apologize to anyone who is a rational adult who thought I might have been endorsing some sort of anti-semitic opinion. Anyone who actually knows me knows for a fact nothing could be farther from the truth. That being said I am not going to caveat social media posts on a weekly basis to placate people who hate by nature and who enter this discussion with their pre-conditioned opinions. Shalom!

@0x49fa98 Tradition is only good insofar as it’s loaded up with it’s required prerequisite: patriarchism. Traditions are passed from fathers to families, the wisdom in them cannot be detached from the fathers passing them on.
