Sept. 2017. The full moon rising over Badlands National Park, SD. I planned this photo for 6 months and then drove 13 hours to make it and it all came together.
Retweeting this as a single because it’s easily my favorite photo of the Tosa Turkeys. Walking down the middle of State Street in the Village like they own this town.
Aug. 28, 2021. The Hoan Bridge lit up for a returning Honor Flight. The lighting of this Milwaukee landmark is one of the coolest things I've seen happen to the lake front landscape in my 52 years living here.
Milwaukee moon rising. The nearly full

beyond the Calatrava, part of our art museum, this evening. Great fun hanging out with
@davekallmann
while making this.
For those of you that don't know Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, please don't take your cue from all the silliness that's happening now. I've lived here since '98 and it's an AWESOME welcoming, friendly, safe, place to call home.
A year ago I was an unemployed newspaper PJ living off savings, the help of family, and government assistance, today I’m thriving in a new career and stronger then I’ve ever been. Thankful.
3of5. The lights change colors. The newly lit Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tonight. I like words and I can't think of the right superlatives to describe how cool this is.
July 16, 2019. Jet passing in front of the moon over Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I tried off and on for years to make this photo and it was a serious buzz to finally nail it.
Last 2021 and by far my most popular here. Please open to see full image. An hour before sunrise at the War Memorial, Calatrava, and Discovery World in Milwaukee.
If you live in Wisconsin it seems like all you can talk about is bars and alcohol. I rarely drink alcohol, so that was an awkward first, and last, date last night. Again, this is exhausting. LOL
Madd respect for my General Manager who showed up at 0100 in a work uniform to help clean planes when we were down two Third Shifters today. He's still there geting the job done like the grunts. In my mind that's what leadership looks like.
I got called in on my day off tomorrow and I might be annoyed, but it’s to help off load military human remains that are coming in on one of our flights, so I’m honored to go in and help. Also pressing a clean uniform and buffing my boots.
If you’re in the Milwaukee area and near the lake the big ship anchored off shore is the Stewart J. Cort, the first 1,000 foot freighter on the Great Lakes. She winters here and should be sailing in later.
Dec. 7, 2021. Please open to see Panoramic Image. The breaking of dawn on my town, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from Lake Shore State Park. Seven photo stitched panorama.
Let’s play Heart Attack or Panic Attack in the wee hours of the AM. Panic attack it was. Huge shout out to
@tosafire
and
@Froedtert
for professionalism and compassion.
Well I just got the email so it’s official. As of May 6 I’m one of 2 Third Shift LEADS (supervisors) for my airline at MKE. I some how skipped a few steps, but I’m up to the new challenges. Also feeling a little like an imposter.
Just made my, free, reservation, to take the boat out to the USS Arizona. It’s becoming real, after decades of wanting to see Pearl Harbor I’m going in Feb.
When the paper let me go in ‘17, and my beloved industry imploded, this is not where I thought I’d land, but officially 6 months with the airline today. It’s a good thing.
On Thanksgiving I tweeted my thanks to my current employer for my spiffy new job and now they want to feature my story in the company news letter. From telling the stories of others to being on the other side. How things have changed. I wouldn't want it any other way.
3of4. The Stewart J. Cort, the fist 1,000 foot freighter on the Great Lakes, BACKING into the inner-harbor and under the Hoan Bridge in Milwaukee for winter Lay up today.
A week or so ago
@lac14
clued me to this new cool feature in South Shore Park in Milwaukee. This AM I set my alarm for 0500 and went and made a couple pictures. Thanks for the heads up Laurel!
