- Introducing a pitch value model so the value of the controlled space is accounted for.
- Rather than comparing a players run to the average of all possible runs, a “realistic run” model could be created that considers the likely runs (I.e. not at max speed towards own goal).

Additional notes:
- Although assuming a player could be at their maximum speed at the moment you’re analysing is unrealistic, it could be useful in analysing when it is best for players to be hitting their maximum speed during off the ball runs.
