Appreciate @realDonaldTrump’s Oval Office comment last night that “the potential of the UN is fantastic.” Yesterday’s EO calling for a review of U.S. investments in international organizations makes sense at the beginning of any new administration. We’re confident that this review by @MarcoRubio and @EliseStefanik will show that UN funds, programs and agencies make the U.S. safer, stronger and more prosperous. And all for less than 1% of the federal budget.

We @BetterWorldOrg are carefully monitoring the rapidly devolving security situation in Goma. I visited with the brave @MONUSCO peacekeepers in Goma and in rural villages in Eastern DR Congo and deeply appreciate they're away from their home countries trying to secure peace.
14 peacekeepers have given their lives in defense of civilians in the city of Goma in the DRC. Coming from Uruguay and South Africa, these troops died in the defense of civilians fleeing the city amidst continued fighting in Eastern DR Congo.

Important point made by @UNEP ED Inger Anderson: it’s doable and cheap to get lead out of paint. 94 countries have banned lead in paint, which means 100 countries have not. New Partnership for A Lead-Free Future can drive the campaign to get new regs in place and save kids lives.
