@Atkins2Alcatraz B. With Vlad at the core we’d have a decade of fun baseball to watch, and could definitely win a World Series during that time.

@Atkins2Alcatraz His 3rd stint last year he showed off a ton of power. If he could up the walk rate and/or make more contact he’ll become a legit everyday trader player. He showed he can make contact/ walk more on triple a too.

@MarshaIIZach The base running would be terrible, but we need power more than we need baserunning. Vaughn is a cheap, low risk chance for a middle of the order bat, at worst a decent platoon. Luckily we’ve added Gimenez, and some prospects coming up who will help offset the baserunning.

@MarshaIIZach He’d play primarily 1st and DH in this scenario. Vlad can always shift to 3rd, or Santander to LF . The defence would be passable on platoon days, and if vaughn hits himself into more abs vs righties we have flexibility to make it work. I like his upside over the FAs out there.

@Josh_theJaysFan Cronenworth is a little interesting but 6 years on his deal is brutal. He had a big jump in contact quality this year while keeping his good plate approach. Lefties tend in struggle in San Diego too.

@Cardinals_Live Are you hearing anything about who Toronto is interested in/ how motivated they are to add an everyday player?

@RobWong34 Wagner/Clement/Martinez/Barger could be at 3rd, Loperfido/Lukes/Roden/Schnieder/Barger could be at LF. Surely some combo of those guys can get solid production…. Right? 1 more bat certainly helps tho.

@Atkins2Alcatraz What would you think about trading for Arreaz? Would be expecting something closer to 2022-2023, his thumb seemed to be bothering him last year.

@Atkins2Alcatraz Have many prospects/recent grads do you see getting significant abs in April/May? We have a lot of guys I could see establishing themselves this year

@Hall_Thomas_ I think mark Canha would fit a bench/platoon role well. Same with Brenden Roger’s (if he doesn’t go to a bad team for everyday abs) But there’s definitely very few options that would warrant more than a minor league deal. More likely we take a flier on a rp for cheap

@MarshaIIZach I’m sure he’s looking at Matt Chapman’s contract and thinking he deserves a very similar contract. He also seems like a guy who doesn’t want to move around constantly, he’d rather just stay in 1 place for a long time.

@Atkins2Alcatraz I’m guessing this stuff is boras leverage but if Toronto offers 6 years 168 mill does he say yes? That’s comparable to what Chapman got in San Fran. He’d be a good replacement for Bo’s production long term if he doesn’t want to resign.

@ExtendVladdy @V1ctor_S1lva27 He’s more of a mini joc pederson. His splits r drastic but his expected numbers are amazing. He’d be a great platoon bat for the top of the order

@JimRileyLive To be fair it’s much easier to sell the team with less payroll on the books. Right now seems like there time to clean up on free agency with 1 year deals or trades. Let the new owner decide on their own payroll.
