Due to the extreme heat, the Pelham Police Department is officially cancelling all criminal activity for today and tomorrow. It is just too hot to be outside committing crimes. We’re asking all aspiring criminals,…

The first few days of school are always tough when you are in kindergarten. Cpl. Huertas made sure each student felt comfortable and walked them into school if they were having a hard time.
Last night officers responded to a report of an owl that was struck by a vehicle. Officers took the owl in as a precaution. ACO Caprigno examined the owl, it appeared it had only been stunned and was not injured. It was released back into the wild and flew away on its own.
Not something we typically do, but a homeowner had a dove trapped in her chimney. Ofc. Huertas was able to free the dove and release it outside. They don’t teach that in the academy.
This groundhog was stuck in a fence. Sgt. Barbato & Ofc Huertas were able to free him and return him to his family after he stole one of our gloves. We elected not to charge him criminally.
Last week Officer Huertas took a report of a damaged mailbox. He learned that the owners were concerned about getting their mail as the mailbox was on the ground. Officer Huertas offered to reattach the damaged post and mailbox. A motorist emailed the chief about what he saw.
Det. Vieira & Cpl. DeRoche are attending the services for Ofc. Thyne down in Virginia. They are joined by Chief Avery, Sgt. LaMarche and MPO Cummings of Hudson PD. Ofc. Thyne was the cousin of Det. Vieira, our prayers continue for her family during this tough time.
@NewportNewsPD
Due to the volume of food coming in we are asking bad guys to refrain from running from our officers should you decide to commit a crime. Don’t worry, we will still catch you, but you might get a sneak peak at what we’ve been eating when we are done chasing you 🤢.
We were happy to assist Make-A-Wish New Hampshire with this parade for Rick today. He was supposed to go to

This morning at 0143 Corporal Kasiske and Officer Riddinger responded to a residence on Windham Road for a young fox stuck in a fence. The officers were able to free the baby and reunite it with its mother who was nervously watching nearby. Great teamwork guys!
Pelham PD’s Animal Control Officer Allison Caprigno is spending the night inside a dog house tonight to raise awareness about the dangers of leaving your pets outside in cold temperatures. Follow her updates on our Facebook Page. Let’s show her some support!
Statistically tonight is one of the most dangerous nights of the year for drunk driving. We have extra officers on dedicated to DUI enforcement not only tonight, but through the holiday weekend. Please drink responsibly and use a designated driver.
Good Afternoon Pelham!
Our first full day with our new Chief of Police!
This week has been both exciting and emotional. Throughout the month we are really looking forward to sharing some of the memories and moments captured with you all.
Congratulations Chief Perriello!
The Pelham Police Department has decided to downsize our cruisers. Ofc. Riddinger volunteered to test them out. Our response time will be a bit slower, but the fuel savings will be substantial.

A local 4 year old battling cancer recently had his Nintendo Switch destroyed during a critical incident. The Pelham Police Relief Association purchased him a new one and presented it to him today. We wanted to show him our support and that we are with him during his battle.
We asked our officers to take a couple of photos of the teddy bears they saw while out on patrol during today’s scavenger hunt. Apparently a few of them have a different definition of a “couple”. We can only post a few here. Check out our Facebook page for 100 more.
Congratulations to Pelham Elementary School's First LEGO League. They won the "Core Values" award for best displaying the core values of the league. They also wore PPD's "Hats Not Hate" as a reminder that kindness was at the core of their mission.
People frequently try alerting other motorists when officers are doing speed enforcement by using the Waze App. We encourage it as long as it gets people to slow down. Our officers have some fun with it too.
Vehicles these days are always coming with fancy new features. Some even have their own personal gas nozzle. We recommend against using this feature as it could be hazardous. If you happen to recognize this vehicle please give Cpl. Page a call.
Cpl. Ryan Donovan will be running in tomorrow’s Boston Marathon. We wish him the best of luck in his first marathon. He is running to benefit the 50 Legs Charity.
#BostonMarathon2019
Cpl. Kelly got his turn driving the Polar Express Train on the Village Green this weekend as well. There is a good chance he is still out there driving it around by himself.
