It is a classic case of 'do as I say, not as I do' - and it is not as if he was unfamiliar with guidance he himself helped draw up.
It seems to me to be utterly indefensible and his position wholly untenable. 2/2
I can only share the collective dismay and I understand the widespread anger. So many people in this constituency have gone out of their way to stick to both the letter and the spirit of the guidelines and laws, despite it coming at great personal emotional cost. 1/2
Still backing Rishi as last summer. He has the economic credibility to succeed, the public confidence to get us back on an even footing and is a unifying figure. We can still win with Rishi.
Thank God. He should have recognised he had lost our confidence days if not months ago. I wrote in January 2022 to Graham Brady to call for a vote of confidence - this has taken too long.
Still find it hard to believe. Deeply shocking events in Southend today. Meeting our constituents is the foundation of public service. Sir David was a good man and will be missed by all in Parliament, whatever their politics.
I condemn racism in all form and those who use racist language have no place within the party. I have been made aware of an incident over the weekend. The individual responsible should be expelled from the party with immediate effect. Such behaviour will not be tolerated
Great to see the benefits of investment at

Low tax Conservatives cut taxes when they can, and when it is prudent to so. But right now it risks even higher inflation which is first and foremost a tax on the poor, and that's the dragon we have to slay.
Saddened to hear the news His Royal Highness Prince Phillip, the Duke of
Edinburgh, has passed away.
His service to our Queen and our country and to so many people through his charitable work will not be forgotten.
My thoughts are with Her Majesty and our Royal Family.
For the sake of clarity, I did not vote to dump raw sewage anywhere. I know most of those campaigning on social don't want this to be the case - as one emailed me he wants to make my 'social media life a nightmare'.
I had a lengthy discussion with the Secretary of State for Transport about the ongoing problems at Northern. I made him aware of the daily problems facing passengers and he has tasked Rail North Partnership and DfT staff to work with Northern to resolve the company's issues
largest educational travel provider in the country. All are suffering. As the former aviation minister up until just before the pandemic began, I know how crucial they are to the economy, and to our recovery from covid. Its not just about restarting holidays, it’s about the jobs.
Thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, the Prince of Wales, their family, and the wider Royal Family. May Her Royal Highness make a full and speedy recovery.
Really pleased to be able to co-chair with

the inaugural All Party Group on Cerebral Palsy with

To all those who share my views that dumping raw sewage into open water is wrong, you may find it useful to read the following piece from my colleague Steve Brine which explains what the actual situation.
Happy Founder’s Day! Today has always been a time to remember and celebrate the foundations of Scouting and all that we stand for. And also a time to thank all our amazing volunteers

Interesting and entertaining visits to the Birdman Parrot Rescue Centre on Litchfield Road in Blackpool today to discuss issues around regulation of animal sanctuaries.
It was at 1300 on 2nd October 2020 and I visited St. Mary's. I am available to visit any school or college in BNC either virtually or in person - covid secure - when needed, asked, or indeed if I have a need to visit them.
When was the last time my

set foot in a school? It was probably 2019 PCT (Pre-Covid Times). I get it, we cant jeopardise the education of children and young people of Blackpool, but what about the teachers and their family and the risks for them?
