Eating criadillas with 3 generations of cowboys. Doesn't get more Chihuahua than that! If you're not as adventurous an eater, there was plenty of other tasty ranch food I ate while spending a day living the Mexican cowboy life: #PatisMexicanTable

These skirt steak #tacos happen to be among the fastest, easiest tacos in my repertoire. But they're still huge on flavor with a Yucatán-inspired spice rub and everything is finished in lime and lemon juice making them fresh and citrusy.

It’s Super Bowl season, it’s awards season, so plenty of reasons to make guacamole. For a fresh take, try this Yucatán inspired guac with lima, or sweet lime, in place of regular lime and chile de ábol.

If you want to make the chili from yesterday, this is the cornbread to eat with it! I add bites of bacon, poblanos, corn, and cheddar. It goes into the skillet where the bacon cooked for an irresistible, golden-brown crust. It’s a win-win for #SuperBowl.

My take on Tex-Mex Chili has the emphasis on the MEX, so you know I had to include beans! And Mexican chiles like chipotles, jalapeños, and anchos. It's a favorite in my house for the #SuperBowl. If you want to try it:

Huevos Motuleños are an iconic breakfast in Yucatán with crispy tortillas, refried beans, fried eggs, and a chunky tomato salsa cooked with peas & ham. It sounds like a crazy combination but it’s out of this world delicious! My tried and true recipe:

Closing out my soup week with a simple, delicious greens soup I first tasted in #Yucatan. It's traditionally made with chaya, but you can make it with watercress, spinach, Swiss chard, or any mix of them. #nationalsoupmonth

The adorably named Gallina Pinta, which translates to "multi-colored speckled hen," is an incredibly satisfying pozole style stew from Sonora. It has three basic things: a simple caldo de pollo with fresh chile verde, hominy, and pinto beans.

Another soup for you guys! This Sopa de Cebollitas con Queso has spring onions cooked in butter to bring out their sweetness, a savory tomato broth, and copious amounts of melty cheese to make it absolutely irresistible. #NationalSoupMonth

Many could use a bowl of comfort and it happens to be #NationalSoupMonth so sharing soups this week. Sopa de Ombligo, or "belly button" soup, is super nurturing and named for the masa dumplings with dimples to catch the creamy pinto bean soup base.
