Huge excitement at last week's arrival of 3500 trees to be planted in our grounds as part of the @WoodlandTrust and Community Forest Trust's Northern Forest Initiative. Huge thank you to the volunteers helping every child and member of staff have the chance to plant a tree.

We'd like to say a big thank you to Graham and Jan from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for bringing Beck the trainee hearing dog in to visit Year 3 and 4. Beck is a puppy in training. It is hoped that he will be able to go on to assist a deaf person in the future.

After all that hard work digging, planting and watering the Nursery children didn't want anyone to stand on the seeds. They made posters so people know not to step on them. The children loved mark making and writing for a purpose. Now we just need to wait for the grass to grow!

For homework the Y3 children have been creating Stone Age scenes. We have been so impressed with these that today we set up a "museum" and invited some teachers and a year 4 class to visit. The children enjoyed answering questions about the Stone Age and showing off their work.
