We'd like to say a big thank you to Graham and Jan from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for bringing Beck the trainee hearing dog in to visit Year 3 and 4. Beck is a puppy in training. It is hoped that he will be able to go on to assist a deaf person in the future.

Wow, what an amazing experience at the Young Voices concert last night at Sheffield Arena! The children represented Parkside brilliantly as part of the 4000-strong choir. Thank you to the staff who enabled the children to have a night to remember.

After all that hard work digging, planting and watering the Nursery children didn't want anyone to stand on the seeds. They made posters so people know not to step on them. The children loved mark making and writing for a purpose. Now we just need to wait for the grass to grow!

For homework the Y3 children have been creating Stone Age scenes. We have been so impressed with these that today we set up a "museum" and invited some teachers and a year 4 class to visit. The children enjoyed answering questions about the Stone Age and showing off their work.

Year 3 have been enjoying learning about the Stone Age and learned about chronology through creating a timeline. They measured out 10m of string and every cm represented 10 years, every 10cm represented 100 years and every metre represented 1000 years!
