Single player isn't the issue. Some of the biggest selling games last year where single player. Hogwarts, BG3, Phantom Liberty.
Game looked boring as fuck, and they barely marketed it. So noone even knew the game existed.

Game? From what I've seen there is 2 hours of "gameplay" and 3 hours of cutscenes. Not even Kojimbob goes that hard and atleast tries to make an actual game...
If I wanted a glorified movie.. Then I may as just watch someone "play" the whole thing on YT.

It's not a huge increase. Before it was that solo players would get 1/6 as many spawns as a full 4 player squad.
They simply increased it so that they now get 1/4.
Which translates to about a 50% increase in patrols for solo players.
