Via @Post_Courier #PNG Minister for Foreign Affairs Justin Tkatchenko has announced his resignation as Minister 24-hours after he said he would not resign. His resignation comes as the country made calls for his sacking and deportation amid comments he made during an interview.

I was fortunate to meet this pioneering #PNG leader in ‘06 as part of a NeuroAIDS meeting in Melbourne. Dr Tau will be sadly missed. It is apt that we started our HIV strategy meeting this morning with a minute’s silence, appreciative of his service / leadership. 🙏🏾🌺
At the time of this passing, Dr Tau was Deputy Secretary Medical Standards & Compliance Regulation at the National Dept of Health #PNG. Previously he'd served as the country's Chief Physician, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Manager for Medical Standards 🇵🇬
