Explained to wife that insert cards don’t sell as well as the base variations. She said that’s dumb (not wrong).
She tells me she’s going to collect inserts and start a Twitter account called “Insert Girl.”
And then I explained a few other things about the hobby…
I’ve bought into breaks
Time after time
I’ve hit plenty of autos
Of relief pitchers from Anaheim
And bad mistakes
I’ve made a few
I bought Project 2020 at peak prices
BUT I’VE COME THROUGH!
Thanks
@CheapFunBreaks
!
Good news folks. My credit card company has approved and permanently credited my account for the full disputed amount taken by
@DrewCards_
@andrewjchapin
. Here’s what that means:
On the one hand, I’m bummed I didn’t get any wax to crack for Christmas. On the other hand, I’m really glad my family doesn’t know what this stuff costs.
Some of you are aware of my other PC, Asa Lacy. Long story short, my kid is named Asa and he was born during the pandemic. I've had the auto rainbow (sans superfractor) for a few years now. Happy to share that the last piece of the puzzle is coming home.
May the power of this Ronald Acuna Jr 1st Bowman refractor auto BGS 9.5, traded to me by my friend
@YoJaffe
, bless this break. May his grace steady my hand and his swag floweth over my hit stand.
Easily one of the most generous things anyone has ever done for me in the hobby. Thank you
@Luphluph48
. This definitely put a big smile on my face after a difficult few weeks.
2) This one is important. Drew still has not paid me. He didn’t “sort it out with his payment processor.” He didn’t “fix it in 5min with my bank.” He’s getting bailed out by my credit card company and he is keeping my $16k. That’s wrong. I won’t forget and y’all shouldn’t either.
Hobby fam, Asa (my kid) officially got the all clear on the condition that kept us in the hospital for his first 6 weeks and then required a bunch of monitoring from home. Shout out to the folks that helped pass the time through a bunch of hospital visits and long nights.
Bought something on eBay recently. Before I paid, I realized that the listing wasn’t what I thought it was, but the seller clearly included the details in his/her description. Embarrassed to say... that I paid in full and moved on with my life.
Friends, I turn 40 today. Much love and appreciation to my hobby buds, new and old, for the friendship, the laughs, and the all the hits along the way.
Selling on Twitter...
Me: Card lot, firm at $20
Buyer 1: $17 and it’s a deal
Buyer 2: Take $15?
Buyer 3: Been buying a lot of stuff, can only do $12
Buyer 4: Please detail your prices for singles so I may read it carefully and consider it thoroughly before ghosting you
Still trying to grasp that I own a Bobby Witt Jr 1/1 RC *AND* a Shohei Ohtani 1/1 autograph.
I look forward to the opening of the
@PadresHobbyGuy
wing of the
@deepfriedbreaks
Hall of Fame. Thank you buddy.
Idea: A "Judge Judy"-style show where a buyer and a seller debate the value of their card in front of a judge and both parties need to accept whatever value the judge decides. Call it "Card Court."
