Many v good points in your response to the Minister's letter @IrishRainforest
Lastly, in my experience the vast majority of NPWS staff working on the ground are *extremely* competent, hardworking, dedicated, people. Those at the top must take all the blame for decades of severe mismanagement at Killarney and elsewhere, and still ongoing.

Excellent piece, shows failure of NPWS to keep public informed on key issues in the park's (mis)management. One has to ask why? Expensive new fire gear is no match for the rhodo biomass still stacked in the heart of the oakwoods @IrishRainforest @seewilkie @LiamLy @DublinSoil
Killarney National Park urgently needs a vision to make it bigger and wilder - it wouldn't take much. But there is little transparency or accountability in how it is run.
