If you're going to fuck with a community, maybe not pick the one that's been working together to slay in-game community challenges for 4 months now and made an entire faction go extinct for a bit. Just saying.

It just occurred to me: Bethesda is boned with whenever they actually start releasing Starfield content. Dragon's Dogma 2 releases in a week, in a couple months we got Elden Ring DLC. They completely missed the window they had from November to March.
Original Fallout co-creator Tim Cain says 'Critique of capitalism was never the point' of the games and if anything they're about how 'war is inevitable given basic human nature'.
Seeing even Bethesda's biggest shills begging BGS to allow Larian to make a Fallout spinoff is quite telling. Personally, I would rather Larian do a spinoff on a franchise that isn't creatively dead and being so badly mismanaged. They should just do their own post-apoc. IP.
"In Daggerfall, the one thing I remember was this cutscene for when you could have sex with people you met. It eventually got axed and I still have the original art for it in a cabinet here. It was tastefully done of course."
--Todd Howard, while reminiscing about TES games.
Super hyped for this one, folks. I especially love how it looks nothing like TES. You know, what's a consistent art style except a shackle on creativity?
I submitted a second refund request since I've been seeing people with way more playtime who bought it before I did getting theirs approved now. Haven't heard back yet, I imagine the refund department at Steam is a little backed up right now.
I don't know how you look at BG3 absolutely slaying it at the VGAs and not kick in the door at Bioware the next fucking day and pull the plug on this project.
Listen, it's not too late. You can still cancel it and make a true sequel to DA:O. Bioware doesn't need to die for this
Unless there's a second set of patch notes, I don't see a single QoL change in these notes. Does Bethesda think fixing bugs qualifies as QoL features? This sure bodes well for that "Starfield-as-a-Platform" plan of theirs...
Kinda insane to have this after a massive success with their final DLC for D2. Can't imagine how bad morale is, the place must have the atmosphere of a morgue. At this rate, my inevitable Bungie/Destiny video will be a postmortem.
This morning, we shared an important update with the Bungie team on the difficult decision to eliminate 220 roles at Bungie.
You can read the full statement below.
Something about this random encounter NPC really stood out to me. For one, she actually cursed. It's weird how no one curses in Starfield. Second, with how sterile and anti-fun Starfield is, I was not at all expecting a joke about hooking up with a sugar daddy.
This kinda surprised me. While the PC linking drama drove me away, the bleeding was happening long before that.
We just gotta admit live service is a failed concept. It's an MMO without the massive social elements that create longevity.
We still can't leave reviews for Starfield on Steam because it's technically not unlocked yet. AAA game charging $30 for 5 days early access can't get reviewed, but $10 indie game that'll be in early access for 3+ years can. Wild.
You know... I did it to myself...
St*rfield stream next week courtesy of a donor calling my bluff.
Thanks to everyone for making my first stream in 8 months a lot of fun. I'll try not being a stranger.
I knew this would happen, this is why I've resisted for two years. My YT recommendations are now inundated with off-grid cabin videos and I was up late last night thinking about buying some land and building my own cabin.
One day I hope these retail stress dreams that wake me up in a cold sweat stop.
To anyone going to their retail job today, much love. Stay strong. Hide in the backroom as much as you can today. ❤️
I'm looking forward to the inevitable Helldivers-like genre that's gonna sprout up in a couple years. I would love a version that wasn't a live service title. The events of this weekend was yet another example of why players are wary of the model.
I know the typical cope that follows one of these trailers, but let's be real, there aren't THAT many chuds downvoting because of the culture wars. That trailer was just fucking abysmal.
If you were still holding out hope for Bioware... I can't help you.
So Pat told me the next BIG CONTENT UPDATE was only adding some emotes to photomode and I thought he was just joking.
Content platform tho. DESIGNED to be played for a decade. I guess that means waiting a decade for all the official content to be added.
On March 6, we'll be putting our next
@StarfieldGame
update into Steam Beta! This update focuses on quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes as we get ready to add more features and content to
#Starfield
this year. Here are some highlights:
Man, Steam is such a cool program. It's got so many features I don't even know about that just kick in when needed.
Prepping my laptop for a trip and it's pulling my game installs over LAN automatically. No configuration needed. It just works 🙂
#Helldivers2
is where I'm drawing the line on bullshit accounts. With all the data breaches going on, I'm VERY wary of putting more of my info out there. I refuse to make a PSN account just to play 1 game. Had I known this would be a req to play, I wouldn't have bought the game.
It's vindicating to see something I pointed out in my Starfield video finally catching on in the main stream media. It's a shame it's taken, what, 4 rounds of studio closures and layoffs for people to catch on that Spencer is full of shit?
Of all the remake mod projects, Skyblivion definitely has me the most optimistic of it launching and being good. Cool to see them getting official recognition from Bethesda now.
@patrician_tv
We fucking called it during the presentation last year. They sent that game out to die. Despite the best efforts of the clearly talented and passionate team, they couldn't win against such stacked odds.
I've been asking why devs even go for big publishers anymore?
No creaky plastic, ugly battery-killing RGB, wobbly buttons, or groaning scroll wheel. Tons of useful productivity features. Best of all, it's actually comfortable to palm grip. It's astounding how awful most gamer-marketed peripherals are.
I know they are shattering their sales expectations and probably just want less players atm to ease server load, but it's refreshing to see a company respecting players' wallets.
Imagine if instead of 2 hours of corpo slop that will likely be delayed/cancelled, we had 2 hours of cool niche games that are out right now but just need a signal boost to find their audience?
Nah, fuck that. We need Lego Horizon and we need to open with it.
So uhhh, Bethesda deleted that post. I went back to grab it for my video and it's no longer listed. They haven't deleted the notes of other beta patches. Odd...
Confession time: I stayed up late playing Starfield for fun.
I jumped into the game to record some b-roll, decided to install some mods and see the results, and I found myself actually having fun.
@patrician_tv
Even the overall rating is now below Fallout 76's 75%. My theory is people are now starting their second playthroughs and realizing how little actually changes and how much of this game is smoke and mirrors.
I'm starting to recognize just how much of a drag looting in Starfield is on the rest of the experience. A part of it has to do with an insane amount of useless clutter items, and a part of it is just how flat Starfield looks.
The latest
@StarfieldGame
update is now available on all platforms! Thank you to everyone who has been participating in the Steam Beta and providing your feedback.
Update notes:
Pollen so potent right now I'm coughing and sneezing from just going outside to move my car. Message received: outside bad. Stay inside and play more gaems.
The temptation to fire one of these two up and lose my life 4 hours at a time is strong, but this Skyrim video won't finish itself. Must... remain... strong...😤
Gamepass is unsustainable because it was built on the need for constant aggressive growth targets MS can't hit? Releasing on gamepass is suicide for most games? Starfield didn't expand Gamepass? Where did I hear this before...
Only took, what, 3 bad releases for MS to finally realize 343 is cooked? Maybe we can have a good Halo game again? Another H1 remake and what's probably going to be a BR game doesn't sound promising, though.
I can tell the experience is gonna fall off in a few more hours, but there's a weird compelling gameplay loop to be found in grinding mission board jobs for cash to build ships with.
Palworld is surprisingly good. As a huge fan of survival crafting and factory management games, Palworld has some really unique mechanics going on that are a genuinely great addition to the genre. It's another gateway to the genre like Satisfactory is.
This is hilarious on too many levels.
Buying a laptop with a 4070 to play Skyrim is funny on its own. But the fact it's not Starfield is just... who the fuck does marketing at Xbox?
So they're making a whole expansion that takes place in the Soul Cairn. As someone who thinks the Soul Cairn is overrated and kinda just bad, this really does not look appealing. Also, the complete absence of ship stuff did not go unnoticed.
On December 10th, 2021 Starfield was added to my Wishlist. On this day, August 29th, 2023 it will be entering my Library. 48 more hours folks! Get HYPED! Get PSYCHED! Get the $100 Edition of Starfield TONIGHT! 🚀🪨🥪
I've seen this too many times. Game stops attracting new players, devs dial in on retaining existing players, leading to creating content that doesn't appeal to new players. One two skip a few, now made Destiny 2.
@patrician_tv
I broke that down into a cents-to-points ratio. The lowest package (which noone is going to buy because most creations are 400+ points), got a value buff. But damn, that 5500 package got nerfed HARD.
Poking through the WoW storefront and I finally realized what
@patrician_tv
was talking about when he sent me this.
Is Blizzard okay? Do they need a punchbowl filled with Aderall? I still am not sure what the fuck Pandaria Remix is.
This is the sort of shit I would be reading about in one of my business textbooks in college. A historical fuck up. We don't get many of these in the games industry.
