Next up in our Black History Spotlight we're featuring Charles Reeves, PRT’s Chief Transportation Officer. Charles has been with the agency for more than two decades and is a third-generation transit employee, who joined the organization in 2002 after having served in the U.S. Air Force. He started as an entry-level laborer, eventually working his way through the ranks from a bus operator to his current position as a member of the senior team. Charles earned a Bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Point Park University and is an alumni of leadership programs such as Leadership APTA and Leadership Pittsburgh. He sits on the APTA Board of Directors, serves as Vice Chair of the APTA Bus Operations Committee, and serves as President of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Community of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO). His leadership skills and dedication continues to inspire everyone within our agency. Stay tuned throughout Black History Month as we highlight more past and present Black employees whose contributions have shaped our agency and strengthened our communities.

@MekaliKaga Yes, rails will be using Penn Station. There will be a bus shuttle running between Penn Station and Gateway Station, and a temporary bus stop outside Wood Street Station.

Today we remember the legacy of Rosa Parks, born February 4, 1913. Parks courageous act of taking a stand by staying seated on a Montgomery bus, and her prominent work in the Montgomery Bus Boycott reshaped public transportation and civil rights in America.🚌 #BlackHistoryMonth #RosaParksDay

As we kick off our month-long celebration of Black History Month, we’re proud to shine the spotlight on Donminika Brown as the first of our featured Black leaders. Her dedication, expertise, and leadership are making a difference within PRT and the communities we serve. Donminika serves as PRT's Chief Financial Officer as of January 2024. Her responsibilities include overseeing financial planning and budgets, as well as capital programs and grants. Donminika has strong roots in Pittsburgh, having attended Pittsburgh Public Schools, the Community College of Allegheny County, and the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Master's degree in the Science of Accounting from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining PRT, Donminika worked at Primary Care Health Services, where she was the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer. Donminika’s leadership and commitment exemplify the excellence and impact of Black professionals within our agency. As we continue our Black History Month celebration, we look forward to highlighting more of our past and present Black employees whose contributions have shaped PRT into the agency that it is today.
