Thousands of hydro workers across the country were called in to assist with emergencies during their holidays. They’re heroes, and we should be thankful.

I’m losing faith in humanity.
I helped someone quickly change their broken windshield wiper in a parking lot, she was so happy and thankful and said “I could marry you”.
What kind of world do we live in when you help someone out and they threaten to ruin your life.
A couple bought a used washer and dryer from a guy. He was asking $500, they said they had a new baby and offered $400.
When they got it home, they opened up the dryer and there was their $400 in an envelope. The man said it was a gift for the baby.
More of this, please.
You know when it snows and your vehicle is covered, and you open the door to get the snow brush and a bunch of snow gets sucked in and lands on your seat?
Yeah, you know what I’m talking about.
Recruits seem younger and younger these days.
The Toronto Police application process is closed, but only for a short time. Keep on top of things and be ready when it opens up! It’s up to you to prepare. Good luck!

I have way too much life invested in cassettes to leave them behind. Rewinding in class with a pencil, waiting for a song to play on the radio to press record, etc.
I love my old Sony Walkman, pure nostalgia.
Thanks

I was standing in line at a busy bank yesterday in

. The teller, in a loud voice, counted out $800 in cash on the counter and then handed it to a senior citizen who put it in a purse and left. This is common and needs to stop.
I wasn’t going to start eating bad until closer to a Christmas but let’s face it, December is a write off. To be honest, it’s been a write off since Halloween. I’ll start sometime in January probably. Maybe after Easter, we’ll see.

I told her that we don’t have any family members without issues.
Today, Constable Andrew Hong will be laid to rest. Andrew proudly served as a member of the Toronto Police Service for 22 years. He died in the line of duty on Monday, September 12, 2022.
Rest In Peace, brother 💙

This saddens me beyond belief. I’ve worked with Security Guards for many years, they’re often placed in very dangerous situations with little or no support. Her death is now ruled a homicide. They deserve our gratitude and our respect.
May you Rest In Peace Harmandeep Kaur 🌹❤️
An extremely tragic incident today ended with an Ontario Provincial Police officer losing his life.
My thoughts are with the family and friends of the fallen officer, the entire Police Service, and everyone else involved.

Happy New Year!
I told myself I’d start eating better, but you never start eating healthy on a Friday, you start on Monday. However, the shelves will soon be packed with chocolate for Valentines Day, followed by Easter, so I’m thinking perhaps mid April or May at this point. 😎
Random awesome memory:
Being excited at school when the custodian went on the roof of the school during recess to throw all the balls down that ended up there over the past month by accident.
Exciting times!
I may not have meant it, but I sure walked away like I did! Splitter/sledge hammer combo. I should have taken that second swing..
Have a fantastic weekend friends.

What worse than not cleaning up after your dog in a public place? Those people who clean up after their dog with a bag but then just throw the bag on the ground. What’s the deal??!!
I’m in awe of a what such small little creatures are capable of and how effortlessly they work together. I feel bad for them.
I hope you enjoy watching this.

I was on social assistance in my late teens and struggled with life, a Police officer for over 20 years and now an Ontario Human Rights Commissioner.
Some people don’t get it.
Times are tough, people are struggling. Mentally, emotionally, financially. Miss one payday and they could lose it all, and prices keep going up.
They can be one disrespectful gesture or word away from completely losing control.
Be careful, and kind.
When I was young, people kept diaries of their daily thoughts and got mad when anyone tried to read them.
Nowadays, people post their daily thoughts online and get mad when nobody reads them. 😂
It’s been said that ‘hearing’ is the last sense to go in the dying process.
So talk to your dying loved ones even if you think they can’t hear you 🙏🏼❤️

You could hire 500 officers, but if those committing crimes such as assault, robbery, etc. often while breaching release conditions don’t face serious consequences, will it matter?
Is this a bandaid solution?

I’ve made a point of saying “you’re welcome” in a rather loud tone when people behind me don’t acknowledge when I hold the door for them. They usually look at me like I’m the rude or obnoxious one.
It’s becoming a favourite pastime, I almost don’t want them to say thanks now.
I had a good week. I stayed positive, I was good to myself, I helped others. But dammit, two adults, an infant, and a teenage boy died at our border this past week. Froze to death. Imagine the adult holding the baby. What was going through their minds. It rips at your very soul.
Hearing birds singing before it even turns light is incredibly therapeutic and comforting to me. I’m thankful. One of my favourites is the male Cardinal, very pretty song and a vibrant red. What’s yours?
Two things:
1. During a windy night, if snow blows from your neighbour’s front lawn on to your shovelled driveway and causes a snowdrift, it’s not their responsibility to have to shovel it for you.
2. It’s not a Police matter so don’t call them.
“If someone tried to take control of your body, you would fight for freedom. Yet how easily you can hand over your mind to anyone who insults you. When you dwell on their words and let them dominate your thoughts, you make them your master” - Unknown.
Enjoy your day, be safe. 🙏🏼
Yesterday the Toronto Police Aboriginal Peacekeeping Unit (APU) celebrated its 30 year anniversary.
One of my proudest moments as an Officer was when I had the unique pleasure of honouring our newest Police Constables with a smudge/cleansing Ceremony.
Plz see link in my profile.
I don’t mean to brag, but yesterday I remembered to grab one of my 300 reusable bags from the rear seat of my vehicle before I went inside the store, and didn’t have to buy another.
I don’t even remember buying this one.
My sense of accomplishment is through the roof. 😎
Not everyone you see on the streets, on transit, or stand close to at the grocery store may be stable. There may be mental health concerns or simply be at the end of their rope.
Think before you confront others, and watch your tone. You may get a response you don’t expect…
I just sat with and watched a dad take his toddler son up and down an escalator multiple times. Every time they got on, the toddler smiled and laughed with excitement.
It might be the most wholesome thing I’ve done in years.
I had a nice chat with these two Ontario Conservation Officers today. They understand the importance of both education and enforcement.
Just before this pic, they issued a fine to someone who was snagging salmon out of the river. They’re also hiring! Good luck.
