Many school districts have spent only 15 cents of their #ESSR dollars as a deadline to use it or lose it approaches in September 2024. With permissible use being so broad, outdoor labs are spaces that support student learning and teacher retention.

Schools have been slow in using the federal pandemic rescue funds, which expire in Sept. 2024. They should invest in giving students and teachers a boost in science instruction.
