The 40k a year isn’t a problem but the towing is. Most chargers don’t have room for the car and the trailer, so you have to unhitch, leave the trailer somewhere, charge, then go and pick up the trailer, assuming it’s still there. New chargers are being installed very quickly, but hardly any of them are suitable for charging with trailers.

We already have both. I do both. It isn’t a binary choice. You made the point that you are warm, dry and safe in a car. I made the point that it’s possible to do the same on a bike. As long as there’s plenty of segregation so that drivers aren’t able to put cyclists at risk. Much more of that is needed, as is a reduction in the number of ICE cars polluting the air in cities.

You can stay warm and dry on a bike, irrespective of the weather. It’s about having the correct clothing for the circumstances. And segregated bike lanes that drivers can’t encroach onto create a safe environment for cyclists. So you can be warm, dry and safe on a bike. And healthy too.
