Can Cal demand some money back from ACC with the way FSU is playing? I mean we are subsidizing mediocre football. Money should be based on performance!
Last year if a chart like this were made with Cal as
#1
, the comments section would be flooded with, "What, Cal has fans?"
Today not a single comment wondering if Cal has fans, if anything, I see a number of Go Bears!
Someone once said, “the antidote for fifty enemies is one friend” - so this is a moment to thank all our friends, esp schools at ACC that voted for us and their fans who have welcomed us into their fold. Long live the ACC and long live college football!
If you live in the Bay Area, I’d highly recommend wearing any Cal apparel you have! I’m in Stanford territory today wearing a Cal sweatshirt and have never gotten so many random 'Go Bears' on the streets before! 💙💛🐻
Everyone is talking about classic BBQ - NC, SC, Kansas City. Why have all that when in Berkeley you can have:
INDONESIAN TEXAN HALAL BBQ!
That's progressive! And I mean look at those Dino Ribs!
Craziest rumor alert. A reliable source from ACC country has told me that ACC has had membership talks with a few very high profile B12 schools in the past 6 months. Grain of salt alert-but wanted to share. This would shake CFB to its very core.
Dear
@NCAA
, in 2008, you adopted the targeting rule to reduce risk of head injuries.
Can you clarify if this play was:
1. Targeting: improve ref training/ review process
2. Not Targeting: clarify the rules for helmet-to-helmet contact
Best,
CFB Fans & Players
Does this mean another parking spot reserved for Nobel Laureates at Cal??? At this rate, we are not gonna be able to park on campus anymore!
Seriously, though, this is so cool!!!
** ESPN: Cal saves the day for the ACC **
"Cal benefited from clutch plays made by quarterback Fernando Mendoza...Cal won with punter Lachlan Wilson...Everyone else played great complementary football...The ACC appears wide open..."
Even on days where there is a haze on Cal's campus, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge. You aren't getting that view on a TV screen anywhere except Cal!
@CollegeGameDay
After seeing Auburn fans penchant for a good time, I propose that in addition to the annual football games, they should be honory invitees to Cal 4/20.

and

the lowdown on the "Cal-gorithm".
"They don't seem like they want to go back to the Pac-12; they're like, we've gotten more exposure in the ACC in two weeks than we've ever gotten in the Pac-12."

We roamed Cal’s campus all day. No bars were open, not a soul was out and about, no tents to be seen. When we did find a tent, it was the Auburn tailgate. They don’t know ball.
When people are creating burner accounts that say "NoOneCaresAboutCal" to talk about how No One Cares About Cal, you know you have arrived as a program.
According to Rece Davis, Cal is the new standard and benchmark of College GameDay. Henceforth, the Duck Test has been changed to, “if it roars like a Golden Bear…”
At this point, my friends, the top two public universities in California are Cal and Davis! Glad to have already played against one of the best universities in the country! Strangely our brethren from SoCal is missing 🤷🏽♂️
Former PAC 12 teams had a solid 11-1 weekend.
Teams that Won (in alphabetical order): Arizona, ASU, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington, Washington State
Teams that Lost (in alphabetical order): Stanford
The
@CalFootball
season kicks off tomorrow and Oski has a tip for fans: Take BART to games this year!
UC Berkeley offers a free shuttle between the Downtown Berkeley Station and California Memorial Stadium before and after games.
Go Bears! 🐻 🏈 🚆
This was probably the 3rd straight game that Cal lost where I objectively thought we should reality have won.
For long term Cal fans this feels familiar, so I implore the coaching staff - focus on the gaps - and let’s win out the rest of the season! Go Bears!
🚨 ‼️ CALIFORNIA 🚨 ‼️
BERKELEY STUDENTS
SHOW UP TO MEMORIAL or else you won’t get into HAAS, won’t get into CS, won’t be able to declare your major, fail all your midterms and finals, and won’t get any internships.
🐻 YOUVE BEEN WARNED 🐻
Why would I be embarrassed by a family member paying me money for some damages they caused me? I’m thrilled that UCLA is stepping up to its responsibilities.
Can confirm. Not a tailgate/beer store in sight. After some Cal fraternity guys pointed us a mile away to the one store, it was full of AU fans. The cashier goes “this isn’t normal…we’ve never seen fans travel like this” & then Cal sold out of beer in the 3rd quarter 😂
@avinashkunnath
The World: Cal fans don't exist.
Cal Fans: Hi, we are here.
The World: See, I told you, Cal fans are insufferable.
Cal Fans: Ok.
The World: Your football program sucks.
Cal Fans: Yeah we have had a rough patch.
The World: See, you are a bunch of commies.
Nice video, though it does raise a good question as to which school - Cal or Stanford - can legitimately claim Golden Gate Bridge as a representative landmark? 🤔😉
Not only do Calford bring elite athletics to the ACC, they also bring in top-notch architecturally awesome college campuses.
Moreover, Architectural Digest ranks the Cal campus as the best in California!
Big Ten, SEC unlikely to add Florida State if it leaves ACC & ACC survives, sources told
@ActionNetworkHQ
. Big Ten & SEC don’t want FSU because adding FSU doesn’t make financial sense, no desire to expand & “they’ve been a disruptive partner,” sources said
Oregonians may now opt for an Oregon State license plate that features the university’s beaver logo and tree rings in the background.
Of the $40 cost, approximately $35 will go to the university, with proceeds supporting OSU Athletics and marketing.
The site of Super Bowl XIX & a beautiful venue to watch some college football.
🏟️Stanford Stadium🏟️
📍Palo Alto, CA
Home to
@StanfordFball
Opened: 1921. Renovated 2005
Capacity: 50,424
It is the 11th oldest stadium & 58th largest in FBS football.
Not only is the Cal game at FSU completely sold out, any secondary market tickets are also currently the most expensive - even more than Clemson! Classic ACC match coming up!
Andrej Stojakovic (
@AndrejSto2
) son of Peja Stojakovic talks about why he transferred to Cal with Coach Mark Madsen & how his convo with Mark was strictly hoops at first No NIL or playing time 🔥 he also mentions the success of Jaylon Tyson
Every REAL USC fan would hate to see this game go. CFB officially dies when you reject tradition and rivalry. You can say NIL killed the sport, but doing this would be the dagger. ✌️✌️
Incredibly sad that Miami has had to defend against two back-to-back game-changing dubious calls. I hope the officiating improves so that the Miami fans are not in this position every week for the rest of the season!
You know what would call the whole Pac 12 debacle? If next year Pac 12 teams are in the championship games for Big 10, Big 12, and the ACC. I can feel it.
The ghost of Pac 12 shall live on and thrive next year!
BREAKING: UCLA baseball will be locked out of Jackie Robinson Stadium by noon today after a judge's order cancelled UCLA's lease of VA land. Story here:
Meanwhile in Berkeley, here's Cal QB Fernando Mendoza's comments today when asked about playing against his former Bears teammate Sam Jackson V now at Auburn.
"Sam's a great guy, I'm rooting for him."
Auburn originally planned to wear white today against Cal, per sources.
NCAA rules state the road team dictates jersey color. SEC rules say the home team decides - conference games only, of course.
Cal originally agreed, but then read the rule book & said they'd wear white.
Imagine
@CollegeGameDay
taking place right next to Ludwig's Fountain in Sproul Plaza at Cal!
#FightForCalGameday
** At the center of Sproul Plaza is Ludwig's Fountain, named after a favorite dog that spent most of his waking hours in and around the fountain in the 1960s.**
Did the ACC trick the Big Ten and Big 12 into taking 8 schools they didn’t want so that they could snag the 2 schools with the most Olympic medals at a steep discount? Many are asking the question.
Ran into Pete while at dinner today in DC today. Got him up to speed on Cal’s situation with ACC and Calimony. He was very supportive. I also invited him to join a game at CMS, and he said he would love to support Cal. Well I think I tried to convey all that to him.
I really appreciate the fact that Cal spends resources to make the transfer experience better. Transfer system is such an important part to open up opportunity and increase mobility in California. It was always the original portal!
Entirely a gift from the Helen Diller Foundation, Anchor House will provide transfer students with an anchor of support and a source of well-being and community.
Annual meetings with
@theACC
and loving it.
When it comes to winning in the NCAA Tournament no conference comes close to ACC.
Top basketball conference in the country!
