Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials conducted extensive “walkthrough” tours of USAid headquarters on Monday while employees of the international aid agency remained barred from entering the building, according to three USAid staffers familiar with the matter. The alleged surveying of the office fuels speculation that CBP plans to take over USAid’s office space, just days after its signage was removed from the building and following the termination of the agency’s lease by the Trump administration. CBP and USAid already have office space at the same address, which is the Ronald Reagan building. #USAIDScandal #Corruption #Trump

Trump says he doesn’t think Hamas will free Israeli captives held in Gaza by Saturday. He adds that if the release doesn’t happen, “all bets are off.” #Hostages #Trump #GazaCeasefire

The state of Missouri has field a lawsuit against the coffee chain Starbucks, claiming its policy of creating an inclusive, equitable and diverse workspace was discriminatory. Missouri state Attorney General Andrew Bailey, a Republican, filed his complaint in a St Louis federal court, accusing the beverage giant of implementing gender and race quotas. “As Attorney General, I have a responsibility to protect Missourians from a company that actively engages in systemic race and sex discrimination,” Bailey said in a news release. The lawsuit claims that “Missouri’s consumers are required to pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services that could be provided for less had Starbucks employed the most qualified workers, regardless of their race, color, sex, or national origin”. China, Trump’s chief geopolitical adversary, is the world’s largest producer of rare earth elements. Both the U.S and Europe have sought to reduce their dependence on Beijing. #China #Trump #NaturalResources

Rare earth elements are a set of 17 elements that are essential in many kinds of consumer technology, including cellphones, hard drives, and electric vehicles. Ukraine’s rare earth elements are largely untapped because of the war and because of state policies regulating the mineral industry. #Ukraine #MineralResources #Trump
