I dreamt I was doing a DHS on a shark. Mid-vastus elevation, I thought 'but how am I meant to get a good shot up the neck? Sharks don't have legs. Or a vastus. And how is it even on the traction table. Then I woke up. Watching Deep Blue Sea before bed was interesting.

Meanwhile in the UK. On my AO Advanced course in Toronto, I remember the surprise when I told one of the final year resident applying for their trauma fellowship how I was post grad year 10. with a couple more years still to go š.
There is no reason for 90% of residents to do fellowships. Most of you are not going to do super complex stuff. Residencies need to do better in training ready, competent surgeons to enter practice. You can learn a lot in 5 years. @OrthoCurryMD @FixnBones.

Happy to receive my mentor scrub cap from BOA/BOTA/BOMSA this week! I've been lucky to have some key mentors supporting me on my Orthopaedic journey. It's been a privilege to be able to pay it forward and do the same for other med students and fellow doctors over the years.
