Excited to announce the next Emerging Rockstar of @ieeepervasive, Dr. 𝑿𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒊 "𝑶𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏" 𝑿𝒖 (@Orson_Xu). Orson is a postdoc researcher at @MIT, and an incoming Assistant Professor at @Columbia. Read my interview with Orson here: @Orson_Xu is a postdoctoral researcher at @MITEECS. He received his Ph.D. degree from the @UW and the B.E. degree from @Tsinghua_Uni. He develops intelligent behavior intervention systems to promote human health and well-being. His research straddles multiple disciplines, including human–computer interaction, applied machine learning, and health. He has earned several awards for his research, including nine Best Paper, Best Paper Honorable Mention, and Best Artifact awards at venues such as @acm_chi and ACM IMWUT. His research has been covered by media outlets such as The Washington Post, Communication of ACM, and ACM News. He was recognized as the Gaetano Borriello Outstanding Student Award Winner at ACM @ubicomp 2022 and the University of Washington Distinguished Dissertation Award in 2023.
