Thankful Thursday: The Orland Park Police Department would like to express our gratitude to Orland Park resident Dave Shalabi for his generous donation of pies to the police officers who will be away from their families on Thanksgiving Day.
Why is that cop on your child's bus? Uniformed OPPD officers are on local school buses watching for stop arm violations. They will alert an officer in a following vehicle who will issue a citation to any driver failing to stop/observe school bus safety.

Friends, family and law enforcement members from all over gathered to pay their respects at the memorial service for fallen CPD Officer Vásquez-Lasso. Director Miller and Leo offered their support to everyone during this difficult time.

We are in the area of 108th and 179 assisting the State Police with locating individuals that fled from a traffic stop. All individuals have been taken into custody and there is no threat to the community.

Leo and Director Miller recently joined other law enforcement therapy dogs in McHenry, Illinois. This was part of a new monthly obedience training as the dogs visited staff members at the Alexander Leigh Center for Autism.

PD's newest K-9 officer is hard at work receiving his police dog training in South Carolina. Maverick is a Hanover Hound, known for its ability to track bad guys and detect drugs.

Our thoughts are with the Illinois State Police and the trooper’s family. The trooper was formally a member of the Orland Park Police Department before becoming an Illinois State Trooper.
Thankful Thursday: Orland Park residents Lana and Yasmeen Shalabi helped their father this past holiday season as they provided pumpkin pies for staff at the Orland Park Police Department. Thanks to Dave Shalabi and his family for their continued generosity and support!

On December 9, the band Echo Five hosted a toy drive at Coach's Corner in Orland Park. The owner of Coach's Corner, Joe Pavone matched $10 for every officer that donated to Special Olympics Illinois during No-Shave-November and donated to the toy drive. Way to go Joe!
