Always a joy to play the 1996 Marcussen organ in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. Today two pre-degree ceremony recitals (am/pm) for the @OpenUniversity and the Processional/Recessional Music, the latter of which will be #Widor’s Toccata from his fifth symphony. You may know it!

This Thursday 3 Oct, 1:15pm in @StChadsBirm. All the pieces on the programme have something to say and are well worth hearing, but the Widor Choral in particular sounds absolutely lush on the St Chad’s Cathedral Walker organ - and really has to be heard in the flesh. Free entry.
Next Thurs, 3 Oct 2024, 1:15pm, @OrganistPaul plays the next recital in the monthly @ThursdayLive series @StChadsBirm. Works by Parry, Wesley & Stanford, and two movements from Widor’s 7th Symphony. Admission free, a warm welcome awaits. Not to be missed!
