To help GCSE Drama students understand what we mean by cultural context, I got them to think about the cultural context of themselves. I asked them: what are your favourite plays, films, practitioners? It really helped!

@ShazDrama I totally agree! A few years ago I worked with an ECT on using voice in the classroom and they found it very useful. I naturally have quite a high pitch voice, and have had to really work on using a lower pitch, as it's much more effective. Voice is our main tool as teachers!

I am so proud to be part of this fantastic school. The teachers and staff have worked incredibly hard to improve since the last inspection, and thoroughly deserve this recognition.

Here are some of the fantastic Macbeth posters designed by Year 9 students this week in Drama. Some of my Year 8 students picked out the best ones, and overall Hannah B won! Great work. @Caldew_School

@EdwardsiAwesome @open_drama_uk @DramaMatters1 We do a scheme on Macbeth, as they are studying it in English and they have a bit of a grasp on the characters and plot. We use the 3 witches scene, and they learn it off by heart. They set it in different time periods and environments - they love it!

It's like when the naughty kid refuses to move from the class, so the class just move.
