Today, COPA initiated a lawsuit asking the UK High Court to declare that Mr. Craig Wright does not have copyright ownership over the Bitcoin White Paper. We stand in support of the Bitcoin developer community and the many others who've been threatened for hosting the White Paper.
Justice Mellor found that:
1) Dr Wright is not the author of the Bitcoin White Paper.
2) Dr Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto.
3) Dr Wright is not the person who created the Bitcoin System.
4) Dr Wright is not the author of the initial versions of the Bitcoin software.

COPA stands for an open financial system and was formed to remove barriers that stifle innovation. We are hosting the Bitcoin whitepaper and stand with our members and the crypto community to address this issue. Here’s our letter in response to last week’s cease and desists.
Hard pass on that "settlement."
Just like Craig Wright forges documents and doesn't quite tell the truth, his description of the settlement offer isn't quite accurate either - it comes with loopholes that would allow him to sue people all over again.
COPA wants a world where people can use cryptocurrency without being afraid of patents or legal threats. We are so grateful for your support. We're excited to announce

Judge Mellor has just delivered his written judgment that Craig Wright is not Satoshi, which carefully dissects Wright’s tangled web of forgeries and lies. Thanks to community support, COPA proudly stands for truth and justice. We look forward to developers continuing their
Today’s courtroom lowlight: Wright repeatedly failed to explain basic aspects of the cryptographic techniques at the heart of Satoshi’s invention. He couldn’t even explain what an “unsigned” C++ variable meant - a computing concept that any real programmer would learn on day 1.
For over eight years, Dr. Wright and his financial backers have lied about his identity as Satoshi Nakamoto and used that lie to bully and intimidate developers in the bitcoin community. 3/4
“12 reasons why Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto”
Our trial to prove that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto closes this week. Throughout trial, we’ve exposed Wright’s serial forgeries and identified point after point that shows he is not the real Satoshi.
It also would force us to accept that he is Satoshi. Take a look at COPA’s dissection of new documents Wright said would win him the case - which Wright’s own expert says are forged:
1/ As the cross-examination of Craig Wright has progressed, COPA has shown the Court numerous forged documents which Wright has relied on to prove his claim to be Satoshi. Faced with fonts that post-date the alleged dates of documents and a host of other anachronisms, Wright
Developers who communicated directly with Satoshi during the early days of bitcoin have testified against Craig Wright, disputing his claims and backing COPA’s efforts on behalf of the bitcoin and open-source community. Our latest recap:
3/ When asked whether documents previously relied on by Wright in relation to his alleged Tulip Trust (submitted in the US Kleiman litigation) were real, Wright made COPA’s case for it, commenting, “I have no idea and I cannot actually vouch for anything being completely real”.
2/ When asked how he came to rely on those same documents in this litigation, he has resorted to blaming a long list of third parties - his former solicitors for alleged mistakes, former employees who have planted false documents on him, numerous third parties who he says have
From the written judgment: “...Dr Wright presents himself as an extremely clever person. However, in my judgment, he is not nearly as clever as he thinks he is. In both his written evidence and in days of oral evidence under cross-examination, I am entirely satisfied that Dr
When faced with examples of forged and manipulated evidence Wright “contested them all, weaving a patchwork of justifications whose thread became increasingly difficult to follow.”
