Update on #Jan6er Ben Martin: Ben Martin was transferred to a new prison this morning at 3 a.m. Facing false charges under 18 U.S.C. § 1512, a search warrant afffidavit recounting of his peaceful conduct on January 6 served as the basis for a search warrant that allowed federal agents to open his wife’s safe. Through a constructive possession theory, they charged Ben with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm due to a prior misdemeanor offense. We hope that when the new administration catches its breath, someone will prioritize Ben’s case and work to secure his release. It appears that Ben’s outspoken support for President Trump and his refusal to comply with mask mandates may have intensified the investigation against him.
