Dept. of Corrections + Gov's office lied to #arleg ALC members. In October, Rep. Joy Springer asked THREE TIMES if they had already a selected a site for the prison. "We have not selected a site yet," they said, despite the fact they chose two months prior. #arpx #onARwatch
The issue with (A) is that it's super shady and anti-democratic. Legislators representing the area found out about the plan right before the formal announcement; Joe Profiri, representing Sanders' office, admitted last night that the decision was made at least 3 months ago. Community members never got a say.

Devastating news for women and unborn babies in Arkansas. We must unbundle payments for this “episode of care”, (ridiculous policy) & appropriately pay for the healthcare that doctors and hospitals are giving to expecting mothers. I will be filing legislation on this in 2025.
